I was a Kaplan SAT Prep teacher for two years, so in addition to my approach to general mathematics concepts gained from my educational background, I have a number of test specific tips and tricks to help students get the highest score possible with the least amount of stress I'm a recent graduate of Rutgers Graduate School of Education with a Masters degree in Science Education, and a major in physics, math/education minor, also from Rutgers. I've been tutoring privately and with various Rutgers organizations for the last 5 years, with over 200 satisfied students in all manner of subjects. M [more]

I am a 30 year old professional tutor and attorney. I have over 1000 hours of tutoring experience in both private and classroom settings. I would love to use my experience to assist your child in reaching his or her full potential. Students often do not want to be tutored or do the work. I use humor to turn the prep into an (as much as it can be) enjoyable experience. Blending jokes into my teaching content actively engages students and makes the lessons more memorable. Furthermore, each s... [more]

I have successfully tutored many students who dramatically increased their SAT Math scores and went on to be admitted to top colleges. I can help with the material covered on the test as well as test taking strategies which will result in a top score. It is essential for students to prepare for the new SAT and train for it specifically, so I use the newest material in preparation for the test. I believe that every student is capable of learning. My goal is to allow them to reach their maximum potential by getting them interested in the subject, making them think, and teaching them in the styl [more]

Too often, SAT students make the mistake of viewing the SAT as a "trick" test which can be "gamed" or a test which can only be beaten if they learn to be better test-takers. As a result, they invest in expensive courses and prep books filled with empty "tricks" or generic test-taking strategies that are in turn recycled from different test prep books and most of which are highly ineffective. This is both a waste of time and money. I have written SAT math programs for test prep companies, been invited by even more to develop their curriculum, teach classes, and even train their staff. I was a certified substitute teacher in the Orange, NJ school system and Jersey City Academy Charter High School. I am experienced with students in grammar school, high school and college. I love Math and Science and enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. I know you will pass your subject if given a chance to learn. I believe all students should be able to learn at their own pace. Math is not hard if explained properly. I teach my students to understand the concept behind the subject not... [more]

For the last 10 years, I have been teaching SAT Math classes at an academy in Bayside, or privately tutoring individual students. Most of my students earned scores between 700 and 800 on the math sections of the SAT exam; a small number of them obtained a perfect 800. I am a former university lecturer (Physics & Calculus), and high school teacher (Physics, Chemistry, Earth Science, Math), with many years of experience in tutoring students from second grade to university (BMCC, Queens College, Stony Brook). I have tutored students from some of the top high schools in NYC (Stuyvesant, Bronx Sci [more]

I teach statistics courses. I also teach and help with data analysis. For all the work that I agree to take, I strive to win your total satisfaction or no money charged. The statistiscs teaching are at three levels: 1) College and elementary statistics Nowadays statistics has quickly become a core course for most majors in universities, under many names: under/graduate statistics, econometrics, biostatistics, business decision making, data analysis, machine learning, quantitative research... SAT Math is a real specialty of mine. Using proprietary techniques (substitution, omit strategies, etc.), I'll help your student go from a 580 to a 700 in the math portion. And that's just an example of what I've helped my students accomplish. Although not a guarantee, I'll typically help your student reach 100+ point gains. I have enjoyed learning about math all of my life. Being in an engineering field, I use advanced math on a regular basis. Working as a quality assurance manager, I regularly perform statistical analyses for manufacturing lines. As a process engineer, I used spatial and [more]
