I am a highly qualified K-12 math teacher in the state of Arizona. I've taught for 9 years in the public school system (2nd - 7th grades & 1 year of high school math). I'm currently a college math instructor starting my 4th year. I'm a hands-on instructor, and very enthusiastic about math. I love teaching math! I've been a tutor for over 7 years, tutoring students in grades K through college and up to pre-calculus. I'm friendly and am able to develop a rapport fairly quickly with my stu... [more]

I scored in the 99th percentile on my own SAT exams and began preparing students to pass their tests in 2000. I know all of the math from basic arithmetic to Algebra 2 that students will encounter on test day. My lessons will blend that with test specific strategies to improve scores. I know which content areas are most likely to be hard or unfamiliar based off a student's grade or level. I was a National Merit Scholar in high school and graduated from ASU and the Barrett Honors College in 2000. That same year I started teaching SAT and GRE after scoring 800 A 760 M 740 V on the old GRE sc [more]

Hello, my name is Dr. Kelly, and I am well versed in mathematics, physics, and the medical sciences. I got my undergraduate degrees in physics and economics and my doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from SCNM. I currently teach anatomy and physiology. I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or ... [more]

I will be teaching for Mesa Public Schools full time starting in the Fall (2016). For help with summer school classes before then please contact me. While attending Arizona State University I graded junior and senior level math courses (usually reserved for graduate students). On Saturday mornings during SAT and ACT season, I present seminars at Phoenix-area high schools to help prepare students for these tests. I have insight into the kinds of questions these tests frequently ask, the most-tested content, and time management strategies. I have always excelled in mathematics. I scored 780 on SAT Math and 790 on GRE Quantitative (maximum score of 800 for each test). Getting good ACT/SAT scores depends on using good test-taking strategies! I am especially good at helping students take complex test questions and make them into simpler questions, so that they can reaso [more]

I have my degree in mathematics and I have tutored for a variety of math courses and concepts, including the SAT. My name is Sara. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in mathematics from ASU. Throughout my life I wanted to be a teacher and my favorite subject was math. While in college, I soon found out that a degree in education does not allow you to take many math courses. So, I changed majors to mathematics in order to take as many math courses as I could. I truly love the subject, but I enjoy teaching the subject more. During college, I worked in schools from [more]

Formally certified by The Princeton Review, I have a deep understanding of how the SAT is designed and how to approach this "necessary evil." The SAT measures your ability to take the SAT and not much else. I can share the best strategies to tackle even the toughest questions. With a Master of Education degree from Harvard University, a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, as well as teaching experience abroad, I have positioned myself to be able to coach, to tutor, and/or to nurture others. Online or face-to-face, my greatest passion in life is helping people get from where they are t [more]

Dear Student, I am a retired psychiatrist, journalist, and educator with an extensive international experience. After having brought not only my seven children but also numerous students to the joy of knowledge for knowledge's sake, I wish to share some of my experience with students who might feel lost. I believe all children are born gifted. Traditional education stunts and sometimes kills a child's inborn curiosity and love of learning. A teacher is not a walking encyclopedia (e... [more]
