I love teaching! It's my passion and I hope to exercise this passion by meeting some of you! I teach most effectively through one-on-one and group interactions. Thus, tutoring is my specialty when it comes to teaching. The subjects I can tutor in are Math and Physics because I have a Bachelor and Master degree in Physics from Western Washington University and University of Arkansas (Fayetteville). During my undergraduate and graduate years at those schools, I taught beginning level physics co... [more]

I have been tutoring all ages (4th grade through adult) for almost eight years now. I have familiarity with the IB Math and Chemistry programs having successfully tutored students at Skyline HS. I specialize in giving struggling students the skills to be successful in the classroom. By far, my favorite subjects are math and science, but I love to show the tricks for test taking for ASVAB, TEAS, MCAT, Compass / Accuplacer / WAMAP placement tests, new SAT and ACT exam. I specialize in identi... [more]

Working with children of all ages has always been one of my top strengths and it keeps my mind active, searching for new connections. I usually learn something new or create an enhanced thought pattern when teaching someone else and this is important to me since I strive for constant expansion. I grew up as the oldest child and have been essentially the male guardian to my 14 year old sister. Before the age of 2, she was able (among other skills) to say the alphabet backward in less th... I have a BSEE, MSEE and PhD, with more than 25 years of direct practical experience while working as an electrical engineer and solid-state physicist in a variety of industrial positions. I have been tutoring math and science subjects to students of all ages for the past decade. My unique mix of industry (research scientist) and academia (PhD in electrical engineering) not only enables me to teach students how to solve problems but most importantly why they need to learn the material. Wi... [more]

If your student is struggling with their math class this school year and needs a better understanding of the material before Monday, then I'm available to help them secure a solid footing on the concepts they are still having difficulty understanding. It is my belief that the best way to generate enthusiasm for a subject is for teachers to openly display their own enthusiasm, and that certainly describes me when it comes to mathematics. While I have always displayed a strong proficiency in a... [more]

Hi, My name is Sumer. I've been working as a math tutor for a little over 2 years now. The reason I like to tutor is that one of my goals in the future is to be a professor at a university and this allows me to get some experience working with students. I previously worked as a Math tutor for Green River College, tutoring anything from arithmetic to calculus. I find that a lot of students struggle with the fundamental skills when they move on to higher level math,so I try to emphasize masteri... [more]

Have studied this subject for more than two years. I have enjoyed tutoring ever since I started high school. I have tutored in many schools and organizations such as John Muir Elementary school, MESA (Math, Engineering, Science Academy), Tree House for Foster Kids, Washington Middle School, Franklin High School, and Madrona K-8 school. Throughout my experiences volunteering and working with various schools and organizations, I have gained many types of skills such as listening to students, patience, and even some classroom management as well.... I am very experienced and have taught over 1000 hours on the math section of the SAT test. The actual SAT problems are not real high level but they are tricky and many students run out of time when they are taking the test. If a student preps and studies hard, it is not uncommon for students to increase their score by 30 to 50 points. I have seen a few students score below 600 when they start prepping and when they take the final test they get above a 700. A students ability and how hard they work prepping will determine how well they do on the test. I can help the student maximize their [more]
