I have a Masters in Mathematics Education from Southern Arkansas University. I have taught math for over 10 years on a variety of levels. From 5th grade math all the way to university level math, I love teaching the basics as well as algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus. Math is more than just memorizing formulas; math is about critical thinking and problem solving skills. During my 10+ years of teaching experience, I have helped students raise math ACT scores significantly, imp... [more]

I scored a 760 on my SAT Math section, only missing two or three questions on the entire test. I have always excelled in Math and love to help others! I am a recent graduate of the Tulane Masters of Pharmacology Program offered at the School of Medicine (graduated May 2015). I graduated from undergrad at Tulane with a Neuroscience major and Economics minor. As someone who is passionate about giving back to the New Orleans community, I volunteer often and have completed more than 200 hours of community service in the last three years, a large portion of those hours coming from helping out with [more]

I am enrolled as a PhD student in Biostatistics. I currently hold a Master of Science in mathematics (statistics). My areas of expertise are probability and statistics, high school math (algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus), college math (pre-calculus and calculus), and micro-economics. The method I have found works best is to have the student try to identify why the class is not going well. Often students get behind and get frustrated and say "I don't get it." This is not a good way to appr... [more]

I have tutored for the program Let's Get Ready, a program dedicated to bringing SAT prep to communities in need. I am well versed in how the SAT is graded and what sorts of patterns and tricks to watch out for. As a college graduate who studied mathematics, I have a solid grasp of the concepts covered in SAT math tests. "If it were easy, everyone would do it." Math isn't easy. Maybe for a precious few it's easy (and even for them there are some problems that are too hard to crack!), but for most of us it takes lots of practice. I'd put myself in the latter category. I consider myself fortunate [more]

I have taken over 18 credit hours in college Math. Hi, "My Turning Point Struggle with Math" I am Martin. I am an Electrical Engineer. When I started UNO, my ACT score placed me in remedial math. In my defiance of this placement, I received permission by the Dean to skip remedial math and take my first college algebra course. I ended up failing, having to retake, and failing again. The study skills I used in high school did not work at the university level and I was not as good at math as I thought I was. This was a crossroads for me. ... [more]

I have experience tutoring while in high school for fellow peers in pre-calculus and calculus I. Since then, I have worked as a seasonal office manager for a tutoring company based in Los Angeles. I am enrolled as a Tulane graduate student in the Anthropology Department. I also intern for a local program that works with high schools to administer fun anatomy labs, and currently work at a lab on the forensics lab on campus. I love being able to teach subjects that I'm passionate about, from ma... [more]

I've taught thousands of students after receiving a PhD 15 years ago. Over the last 20 years, I have learned how to inspire academic achievement, how to elevate morale, and how to prepare students for future challenges. I believe that each student has a unique path to success, and I that one-on-one tutoring is the best way to reach that potential. I enjoy educating students of all ages, preschool to adult. I love seeing students overcome their struggles, and become more confident and com... [more]
