I have both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mathematics; I earned these degrees while on full academic scholarship at two different institutions. Additionally, I am a certified secondary mathematics teacher in three states with experience teaching at the collegiate level as well. There are many different people offering SAT prep courses, but so many of them are not educators; they are simply people who know what's on the SAT. While that is no doubt valuable, I offer my training as a teacher in addition to content knowledge. I will not give a laundry list of useful formulas to memorize; I [more]

Standardized tests can be intimidating for many people. However, they can be successfully navigated via two steps: a basic review of the underlying content; and a thorough review of the appropriate test taking techniques for the exam in question. Compared to the SAT, the ACT has less Vocabulary and an added Science section. Take this into account when deciding on SAT, ACT, or both. I learned that I loved to do Math in grade school, St Louis School, where I graduated Valedictorian. I know loving to do Math made achieving in it fun for me, but it also helped me to see that it wasn't fun for all. Seeking to turn that around, or at least see self-confidence due to succeeding in a difficult task, has been a driving force for me since I began teaching. My personal SAT Math scores were in the 700's. I am certified in CT to teach Math. I have spent 26 years teaching gr... [more]
