I have prepared students for the math SATs in the past and am very familiar with the type of questions on the test as well as the test format. This allows me to pass along problem solving and test taking strategies. I have a love of learning and a passion for teaching! I hold a B.S. in biology and have completed extensive coursework in chemistry and physics as well. I scored in the top 5% in the math section of the SAT and the GRE, and the top 10% in the verbal section of those tests. Of course, intelligence alone does not a good teacher make. I have two years experience in teaching SAT math from certified methods using the official SAT blue book and supplemented with additional drills provided by several other books. I recommend purchasing the official SAT study guide (blue book) to supplement studying outside of the lessons. Education has always been a very important aspect in every adult's life. I am an undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut and am majoring in mechanical engineering. I got a 1900 on my SAT's, and took AP chemistry, AP physics and calculus in high school, aced them (thanks to tutoring), and am taking them again in college. When I first started preparing for the SAT's and taking these classes I was struggling, so much in fact that my parents demanded I get a tutor. I was embarrassed at first because none of my friends needed tutors, but I soon came to r... [more]
