I have been tutoring for over 16 years, as my principle occupation for the past 8, and have seen over 100 students respond to individualized explanation. I tutor students from the kindergarten through college level in subjects ranging from Pre-calculus to Writing to History. I connect with those who struggle with learning difficulties as well as those working well above grade level and those working toward ambitious goals. I believe that helping a student must involve understanding "not get... [more]

The SAT math portion tests a student's proficiency in basic arithmetic, algebra I & II, and geometry. The 70 minute math portion is given three sessions: two 25 minute sessions and one 20 minute session. There are 54 questions, 44 of which are multiple choice and 10 of which are grid-in. In addition to knowing the subject matter being tested, the student will need some basic test taking skills. I will not only ensure the student understands the subject matter being tested, but also the structure of the test and some good test taking skills. [more]

I taught SAT prep at a Huntington Learning Center. I'm certified Math grades 6-12. I have been teaching Math since 2002. One of my favorite parts about teaching is proving people wrong when they think they can't learn something. I especially enjoy that moment when they realize they've gotten the hang of a difficult topic and they are so proud of themselves. Repetition is the key! I work to find the gaps in your learning so they can be filled. Simply going back to learn the old stuff can clear up a lot of the struggles with new material. I pride myself on trying my bes...
