I am a Gallaudet University Graduate. I received my Masters from there in 2008. I am fluent in ASL and have received a 3 on the ASL-PI (American Sign Language Proficiency Interview). I am able to communicate and interpret as necessary. I teach sign language to adults. I am also a Teacher of the deaf. I began signing at age 3 and have a passion for it. I absolutely love working with students. I believe each student is unique. Every child learns in a different way, and I try my hardest to have them succeed in their own learning way. I plan to work with each student as an individual. Each and ev [more]

Patient American Sign Language Tutor

I worked as a tutor for one semester to help the ASL 1 level students with sign language and other things like facial expression and hand movement. It's just not about sign language, in order to learn sign language, I teach them about body language too, facial expression and body language is like the tone to speak. Dear prospective students, My name is Erving, and I would love to have the opportunity to help you achieve your ASL goals. I am a non verbal, deaf tutor who communicates exclusively through Americans Sign Language. This works great with my Student as it allows them to be fully im [more]

American Sign Language and Psychology Tutor

I took ASL 1 and 2, but my proficiency in ASL has come from interacting with and living with other Deaf students on a daily basis at college. I am severely hard of hearing, so Sign Language has become my preferred way to communicate with friends. I also have experience teaching ASL when I worked at a camp for the Deaf this summer. Many of the campers were hearing and had Deaf parents, but needed to improve their Sign Language skills. I just graduated from RIT last May with a Bachelors of Science in psychology and a minor in ASL/Deaf studies. I just recently moved back to Fairfield County area. [more]

Sign Language, ASL, Baby Sign, School-aged

I have experience teaching basic ASL vocabulary since 2008- 2013. I was certified through the Signing Time Academy, and used their curriculum for teaching. I have completed all courses through Signingonline, am currently enrolled in a public 'speaking' sign language course, and I'm taking advanced classes for staff at the school that I teach at. Today I am on my own, as Sign Loud And Clear, teaching using a variety of books and dvd's that match the student, including some Signing Time material. I am working a local school, as ASL support staff and substitute teacher on a part time basis. [more]

I have been a Teacher's assistant at the University of Connecticut for the past 2 years. I was also promoted to the Teacher Assistant Coordinator for the same program. In order to be considered for either position, one must excel in all American Sign Language classes and Deaf Culture classes. I was able to not only excel in these classes but to be able to teach these classes to others as well. I have had the opportunity to be a Teacher's assistant for the American Sign Language Program at the University of Connecticut for 2 years. I have also had the amazing opportunity to be able to become th [more]
