I have taught statistics at the college level. In the classes I taught and the advanced graduate level courses that I took, we learnt and used several statistical packages (SAS, R, SPSS, Minitab) to analyze data and projects. Despite the fact that I can offer assistance in many subjects to students of all ages, my academic credentials and background which include two Master of Science degrees and several years of teaching experience at a college level make me more inclined to work with college and advanced high school students on science (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology) as well a [more]

Growing up with two siblings, I loved to play "teacher" throughout my lifespan. However, I did not put my abilities to use until I attended college. I became a tutor (or Peer Leader) around my second year at Northeastern Illinois University. I chose to assist a famous class non-math lovers dread in the psych department (PSYC 302). Doing this, I learned and developed a true passion of mine (i.e. statistics and teaching). I have tutored over 100+ students for nearly three years at Northeast... [more]

I am a PhD student in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with a Minor in Statistics. I'm well versed in the use of SPSS for univariate and multivariate statistics as well as its uses in psychometrics. Statistics can seem daunting with all of its unfamiliar jargon like regression, z-scores, and confidence intervals. It doesn't help that most professors that teach these courses are so into the math that they don't know how to simplify the topics into understandable bits. Like you, I am frustrated by the complicated language used when conveying statistics. See, statistics are there to make thi [more]
