My doctorate is in Quantitative Research Methods (e.g., statistics, SPSS). While there is role for memorization, I believe in fo [more]

Hi! I enjoy working with students because I believe that everyone has the ability to succeed academically, given the right tools. Many subjects, such as math, are often difficult for students to grasp at first, making the prospect of learning intimidating. However, given the right amount of hard work together and patients, I believe that there is no difficult subject that cannot be surmounted. The most rewarding aspect of teaching is helping a student reach an "ah ha!" moment in a subject the... [more]

I currently teach Criminal Justice courses including Statistics courses in addition to tutoring in math. My approach to teaching and tutoring is addressing individual needs and attempting to take the fear out of learning. This is especially true when dealing with statistics and/or math. I've found that many students come into statistics or math courses with a preconceived notion as to how they're going to do in the course based upon them simply "not being good at math." My approach is to use ... [more]
