I absolutely love helping students that feel that they have difficulties with any math subject. I specialize in Algebra and above but my favorites are Algebra II, Trig & Calculus. I have tutored many students one-on-one, bringing their grades up from B/C range to A's & B's. I have taught beginning math classes at the local community college and have volunteered to help in the math lab, which I truly enjoy. Overall, I believe that math is not a difficult subject, it's just ... [more]

I am an MPH (Master of Public Health) specializing in epidemiology and biostatistics. My undergraduate degree is in philosophy and history. I love all forms of learning, and I firmly believe that the best way to keep learning is to teach - helping you learn helps me do the thing I love. It's a win/win! Math, statistics, and programming are really just different languages for trying to understand the world. I'm proficient in multiple 'regular' languages as well as these, so I know first-han... Dear potential student, I am math teacher, who studied math and anthropology. I have had a lot of experience tutoring math topics, ranging from pre-algebra to calculus. I have also tutored autistic individuals. Finally, I have a strong background in various social studies fields as well through my work in anthropology, including history and sociology/anthropology. I have been teaching and/or tutoring for years. I tend to tailor my tutoring style to each student, but I have done a few differe... [more]

I have used SPSS for 12+ years. I have taught SPSS for statistics to undergraduate, Master's, and doctoral students in both classroom and online tutoring settings, and have assisted colleagues with its use. I used SPSS as my primary statistics tool for graduate school, and I also used it in market research analyst job. I am interested in helping you develop your statistics understanding or how to work with SPSS for statistics analyses (I also use R and can help you with Excel). I can also help you with your academic or research writing, including learning how to present and write up statistics [more]

Growing up with two siblings, I loved to play "teacher" throughout my lifespan. However, I did not put my abilities to use until I attended college. I became a tutor (or Peer Leader) around my second year at Northeastern Illinois University. I chose to assist a famous class non-math lovers dread in the psych department (PSYC 302). Doing this, I learned and developed a true passion of mine (i.e. statistics and teaching). I have tutored over 100+ students for nearly three years at Northeast... [more]

I have taught statistics at the college level. In the classes I taught and the advanced graduate level courses that I took, we learnt and used several statistical packages (SAS, R, SPSS, Minitab) to analyze data and projects. Despite the fact that I can offer assistance in many subjects to students of all ages, my academic credentials and background which include two Master of Science degrees and several years of teaching experience at a college level make me more inclined to work with college and advanced high school students on science (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology) as well a [more]

SPSS (Statistics Package for Social Sciences) is a premier statistical analysis package from IBM. One of its greatest features is that it is quite comprehensive. One of its greatest drawbacks is that it is so comprehensive as to sometimes be intimidating. I recommend developing an understanding of the question to be answered and arriving at what would seem to be the right answer before using SPSS (or other package) to work the statistics in detail. I am a fun-loving, pragmatic, task master. I believe in making math fun through the use of computational tricks and short cuts that are often n [more]

Hi, I'm Damon. I genuinely enjoy sharing my enthusiasm about math and view it as a mission to help improve math's reputation among the topics of study. I started tutoring as a math grad student working on my PhD, and continued on during and after my academic teaching. In many ways I prefer tutoring to teaching in a traditional classroom setting, because while tutoring I have the luxury of being able to respond specifically to a student?s concerns and craft my message for just one student a... I started in teaching and tutoring at the graduate school level. I taught statistics for one year. I held office hour and exam review sessions, and provided one-on-one help for those students in need. Prior to going to business school I worked as an engineer for eight years in the semiconductor/electronics industry. I went to Cornell University in Ithaca , New York and received a B.S. degree in bioengineering. I have an MBA from Georgetown University. My role as Teaching Assistant at busi... [more]
