I taught a masters-level statistics course at Columbia University. I'm working towards a masters degree. Hi! I'm a former high school math teacher, and I tutor part time while I'm working towards a PhD in economics. My specialty is in economics and mathematics, and I can tutor in either field up to undergraduate-level courses (and some graduate-level courses, depending on the subject). I can also help with other high school-level courses. I'm happy to work with you whether you're struggling in your current class and want to see improvement or you want to get ahead. I am a stats geek. There, I said it. I love the idea that statistics can help explain the relation between variables, can help identify causal associations, and more generally can help make sense of the complexity of human behavior. That being said, my statistics training is entirely within the field of psychology and behavioral sciences. While some of the statistical models I use in my own work are used in other fields such as economics (particularly behavioral economics) and business/marketing, my expertise will most likely be useful for people who are studying some aspect of human behavior [more]

I have several semesters of experience teaching statistics to college students. Statistics tutorial services include support with learning the logic and application for descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques. Multivariate statistics and more complex techniques can be negotiated as needed. Greetings! I have years of experience teaching statistics, psychology courses, and using SPSS. With a doctoral degree, I can use my years of academic training to help you! Since I was in high school, I have tutored and enjoyed helping students to understand and learn new ideas. Are yo [more]

Tutoring is my full time job. With well over 20 years of teaching/tutoring experience, I doubt there are many tutors as patient, talented or effective as I am. I bring a lot more to the table than what you see "on paper" and am constantly told by my students how well I explain things. Though other tutors may be cheaper, I am more efficient due to my experience and explanations. After 5 lessons, one of my SAT Math students improved her Math test score by 140 points last year! Another went... [more]

I graduated in 2015 from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and took several courses related to statistics there, including a Probability course, an upper-level Mathematical Statistics course, and a statistical Forecasting course. I tutored students in statistics through the Stetson University Math Clinic for three years as well. I graduated from Duke University in 2017 with a Master of Public Policy, a degree requiring substantial statistical proficiency, and served as an Econometrics Teaching Assistant for a semester. Now, I am a Research Associate II at the Urban [more]

My entire life I have enjoyed teaching and helping others. Throughout high school and college, friends came to me for help in all subject areas; my teachers even grouped me with struggling students so that I could help them through difficult concepts and class work. After high school I attended the University of Oregon for a B.A. in Economics, with a minor in Mathematics, and a GPA of 3.67. In tutoring, I first focus on understanding exactly what a student is having trouble with, then use a ... [more]

I firmly believe in the limitless potential of each and every one of my students. I discovered during my high school years that determination, organization skills and just plain hard work can help each of us tap into that limitless potential. My success on the PSAT was a revelation that inspired me to work harder: I earned a full-tuition National Merit Scholarship to study Economics and International Studies at American University. In 2014, I prepared for the GRE and earned a 328/340 (with a ... [more]
