I'm a recent graduate of Brown University, with a concentration in mathematics. I am passionate about mathematics, problem solving, and chess and am happy to share my passion with students. I have experience tutoring high school and college students in Math and science and am currently seeking Math teaching certification. During my time at Brown I volunteered with low income students tutoring mathematics and college preparation. I also played on Brown's chess team, served as the events coordi... [more]

I have taken one undergraduate and three graduate-level statistics courses, ranging from basic statistics (descriptive statistics, student t-test, linear regression, and nonparametric tests) to advanced multiple regression techniques (multivariate regression, logistic regression, splines, ANCOVA, etc.), time series analysis, and spatial statistics. I frequently use ANOVA, ANCOVA, multiple regression, Poisson regression, logistic regression, time series analysis, and spatial analysis in the course of my own research. [more]

Hello! A little info about me... I love to teach! It's as simple (and challenging) as that. As a graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program at Northern Kentucky University, and a published co-author of a journal entry to The Journal of Ethnomathematics, I love all levels of math! I truly love to share that love through teaching and my specialty is tutoring algebra through college level calculus. Oooh, I just love to teach trig and calculus! I also love to help peop... [more]

I have been tutoring basic business statistics at a local school for almost 15 years, including such topics as descriptive statistics, bionomials, basic probabilities, normal distributions (z & t scores, hypothesis testing, proportions). I am also somewhat familiar with beta tests, Chi-square, F test, and the like. (Please note that I did not learn these topics using a statistics calculator or Excel, though I can still help with understanding and interpreting the material, and I have used Excel for some things.) The math involved in statistics is mostly beginning and intermediate algebra, but the concepts themselves can be difficult to grasp. One of the most important ideas to understand in a statistics problem is that the numerical "answer" is only half of the solution. The interpretation of that result is just as important. I have tutored students taking various statistics courses for two years. During that time, I have developed easy way to learn the empirical formula, confidence interval estimates, and other common topics found in a statistics class. [more]

I am a life long student myself -- As an undergrad at The Ohio State, I have 299 credit hours and graduated with two bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Molecular Genetics. I got my MA in Psychology at University of Chicago, MBA at The Ohio State Fisher College of Business, and a technical degree in brewing. A native Chinese speaker, I have strong background in sciences, social sciences, and mathematics. I love to learn and love to share what I learned. I have tutored my classmates in ch... [more]

I have tutored Intro to Stats or Elementary Stats before and I myself have taken the class recently to refresh my knowledge. I have aced through it. Though a major in medicine, I am open to several opportunities in teaching or tutoring students on various topics. This gives me a chance to teach my students on what I know, and helps me further enhance my knowledge with current topics. While studying college in India, I was able to tutor local younger students in topics such as Math and Science. For Math I am open to help students from elementary to high school (that is Elementary Basics to Al [more]

I graduated from Ohio State in four quarters with a 3.91 GPA. I worked in pharmaceutical and consumer products industries, where I often needed to be able to 'teach' statistical concepts to my co-workers. I'm a highly successful statistician with outstanding experience advising business professionals at Proctor & Gamble on how to apply statistical methods to solve real world problems, as well as a confident coach who remains calm and controlled under pressure while focusing on common understanding. Additionally, I seek to build and maintain strong relationships through a warm and friendly dem [more]
