I took AP Stats in high school. I also took elementary, business and applied Econ statistics. I applied a lot of it in my professional life and in research. Learning has always been a passion in my life. Academic learning, life experience, motivational books. Just name it. I have helped and tutored grade levels from elementary to college, where I majored in Chemical Engineering. I took time to understand concepts and extended these understandings to different subjects. I took AP science, math, history and social science courses in high school and continued my intellectual pursuits in college. [more]

I remember when I first learned about confidence intervals, hypothesis tests, and sampling distributions in my first college Statistics course. I was amazed how elegant and powerful these concepts were. Since then, I have taken Mathematical Statistics, Data Analysis & Visualization, and Econometrics and received A or A+ in all of them. I even did research in Statistics (specifically Biostatistics/Paleobiology) and published my own paper. I am on my way to become a PhD student in Statistics. In the meantime, I have tutored many students in AP Statistics, college level Statistics and Probability [more]

Hi, my name is Ruben. I am a native Spaniard, and I have been living in San Ramon for the past 19 years. While attending college, I became a tutor, helping other students enjoy and understand Math and Computer Science subjects. After graduating with honors, I have worked for a few of the best known IT companies in the Bay Area, but I've never forgotten my link to teaching. I'm looking forward to helping you understand and love that specific subject you seem to be having a little trouble wi... [more]

When I began tutoring a few years ago, I firmly believed that anyone could do well in mathematics, all the way through Calculus, provided you are relatively fluent in a few formulas and make time for regular problem sets. My experience over that time has only confirmed my suspicions, and its has been a great pleasure to work with many of my students. I have always found joy in getting to the point of a big concept and keeping the focus on the purposeful real-world applications that many of ... [more]

Hello, My name is Brian and I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I have taken pretty much every core math class from Algebra to Vector Calculus. I have always excelled in math and during high school I found that I am also pretty good a teaching it to others. I have been a tutor on this site for almost 2 years now. I have helped students at all levels, but a majority of my students have been in high school or college. I tutored a bit... [more]

I can help with numerical and descriptive measures; probability theory; discrete and continuous distributions, including binomial, Poisson, and normal distributions; sampling distributions; confidence interval estimation; hypothesis-testing and one-sample and two-sample tests; inference for proportions; linear regression; multiple regression; analysis of variance; using Excel or R for statistics. I have more than 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I am patient and make learning fun and easy. For my Bachelor's of Science Applied Statistics degree at UC Davis I earned an outstanding performance citation for my 3.97 major GPA. I have a moderate amount of experience with R, and I've tutored over 20 students in AP statistics and college statistics. I earned an A in the following classes in college: Elementary Statistics (STA 13), Non-parametric Statistics (STA 104), Regression Analysis (STA 108), Analysis of Variance (STA 106), Brief Mathematical Statistics 1 (STA 130A), Time Series Analysis (STA 137), Categorical Data Analysis (STA 138), Statistical Computing (STA 141), Sampling the [more]

Hi Students, I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis and I earned my MBA in Finance at CSU Hayward (East Bay). While I was at UC Davis, I placed 2nd in the Undergraduate Mathematics Exam and represented UC Davis in both the Putnam International Mathematics Competition and in the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Western Regional programming competition. While I love working as a consultant (more on that in a subsequent paragraph), I also really enjoy math and ha... [more]

I've been teaching or tutoring for over twenty years in some form or another. For me the reward from tutoring is when I see that a student has caught onto an idea, when the light bulb goes on. In my career I've not only studied physics, mathematics and statistics, but applied them as well as time management and study skills. I can help a student succeed in all these areas. My career has included a PhD in Nuclear Physics, postdoctoral work in nuclear astrophysics and over twenty years of e... [more]

I came to the United States when I was 18 back in 2005. I earned a BA in History. While working on my BA, I taught Spanish and became a court interpreter. I taught Spanish for 3 years. I was born and raised in Mexico, so I speak Spanish (and English) natively. In 2010 I moved to Austin Texas to pursue graduate studies in public policy (which translates to economics and statistics). I have been a statistical programmer for a company based in Washington DC since 2012. I work mostly in Stata... [more]
