As a PhD in the social sciences, I have taught statistics many times (in urban planning and education). My dissertation and subsequent research used statistics extensively. I now tutor basic college statistics as well as AP Statistics. Please note: I prefer not to tutor business or engineering statistics. I've been through it all, including earning a PhD and enjoying a rewarding career. Based on my broad experience and deep love of learning, I've passed on what I learned to countless young people. Now I would like to help you achieve your goals, too. If you're in grades 7-12, i tutor math th [more]

Even if you do not think you will pursue a career in Math or Science, I do not believe that any of these subjects is beyond your understanding. Given the right tools to learn the basic concepts, I am positive that you can do great in these classes. With my experience teaching, I am able to break down the subject matter and assist students in developing the analytic and critical thinking tools needed to excel in Biology, Mathematics and Statistics. With an undergraduate degree in Mathematic... [more]

I received a BS degree in chemistry (summa cum laude) from the Universidad Central ?Marta Abreu? de Las Villas (UCLV), Cuba in 2003. Afterward, I received the MS in applied mathematics at UCLV in 2008. Due to my contributions in the fields of reliability of measurements, I was awarded a PhD degree in mathematics (probability theory and mathematical statistics) from the UCLV in 2014. Also, because of my results in similarity-based virtual screening techniques, I was awarded a second PhD degree... [more]

My background is in structural engineering. I completed my masters degree from A&M in December 2010 and have been working in Houston since. I worked in the offshore oil industry from January 2010 to March 2015, working as an engineer by day and moonlighting as a tutor by night. I took on my first formal teaching assignment in January 2015. I've found I greatly enjoy working as a professor, and it has grown into my primary occupation. I work full time as an engineering professor for UT Tyler... [more]

My passion for tutoring stems from a desire to help students succeed. With over five years of tutoring at the university and online arenas, I have the ability to work in many different environments. I excel in one-on-one situations, but I can also tutor small groups of people. My specialties center around general mathematics and business courses (emphasis on algebra/calculus and accounting). I work primarily in a collaborative format, which means that students and I work on problems together... [more]

I hold undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of Houston. I have successfully instructed over 125+ university courses as an adjunct professor in the areas of Accounting and Finance for 11+ years, and have also tutored these subjects (as well as Math, as I have a strong Math background, having taken two courses in Calculus at the University of Houston) at the same university over the same time frame - in fact, I won an annual universit... I have a Ph.D. in Statistics. I have a Ph. D. in statistics and a degree in Math and Statistics from USC. I am a professor of mathematics and statistics, and a graduate of Rice University. After graduating number one in my class, and working as a professor for almost 15 years, I have decided to tutor part time. I love helping students! I tutor all levels of mathematics and statistics from grade school to graduate school. My 30 years of tutoring experience makes me an outstanding Math Tutor.... [more]

I have been tutoring most of my life. I tutored several year at my college and privately. I've helped the students understand the foundation of math. I also explained new methods that were being introduced. Academia is constantly changing the way that math problems are to be solved. I stay abreast with the changes by constantly learning and increasing knowledge. The best thing I can do for my students is to give them the best comprehension of the material. I have many tips and tricks that he... [more]

My life is one of constant learning and curiosity. From picking up Eastern European languages, to trying out less well-known statistical tests with social science research, I'm a learning fanatic and never shy away from sharing my enthusiasm for subjects in humanities, language, and math. With previous experience at private tutoring firms, I offer a methodical and strategic approach to test-preparation in particular, but I look forward the most to working with students on overall college read... I have tutored probability and statistics at a local university for 3 years I started tutoring my freshman year in college. I love tutoring because it has helped me reach my engineering goals in school. There is nothing like teaching something to master it! This began my love for learning and also for sharing knowledge with others who wish to do better. Often times students understand the material and just need more one on one time to workout examples and see things a bit clearer. I know how far hard work and determination can take a person. This is what I respect th... [more]
