I have twenty years experience as a classroom teacher, teaching secondary mathematics. I also have seven years experience in private tutoring, tutoring students in Prealgebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus and SAT math. My rates are reasonable and my schedule is flexible. I am a very patient tutor, who is willing to explain how to work a problem until the student understands how to work the problem. Questions are always welcome.... [more]

I have taken a number of Statistics courses, a list which includes elementary statistics, probability and statistics for engineers, mathematical statistics, and biostatistics, to name a few. I have also tutored many students in statistics ranging from high school to graduate level. It is therefore a subject in which I am very strong and very comfortable thanks to my extensive exposure to it. Tutoring in the Converse area. I have a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Physics from Prairie View A&M University. My approach to tutoring is flexible and, more to the point, effective. While I do have [more]

Math has always been the one thing that came natural to me. I grew up in a STEM and business family where crunching numbers was an everyday affair; be it from my accounting mother, economics father, educationalists uncle and aunt, or even from my engineering and science geek uncles! Thankfully the Math love bug bit me and it's one of those things I'll forever be grateful for. I have come to the realization that Math does not come naturally to many people out there and this has made me more p... [more]

Welcome to my tutor page. I'm a graduate student in Marine Biology at Texas A&M University: Corpus Christi. At TAMUCC I'm working as a teaching assistant and doing my own research at the university looking at fish in the Caribbean. In the past I worked at The Island School as a research teacher. The Island School is a boarding high school where students from around the world come to The Bahamas and learn through place-based education and the process of asking question and using the scientific... I have a Master's degree. As a graduate assistant at Texas A&M in College Station, I tutored undergraduate students for the mathematics department. With only a half-time assistantship in my second graduate year, I included English, chemistry, physics, standardized tests, and biology. My efforts paid off when I got a job as a systems analyst requiring a lot of home-based work, and travel to teach at many companies. When teaching, I carefully phrase information using concepts relevant to st... [more]

I have taught and tutored statistics in high school and college--to math majors, business majors, and social science majors--for over 20 years. I have also worked as a Director of Institutional Effectiveness in which quantitative analysis was the primary focus of my daily work. Statistics is a powerful tool for decision making-it is one of my favorite areas of applied mathematics. I have a PhD from University of the Incarnate Word, a Master's in Mathematics, and a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from UTSA. I have been teaching and tutoring for almost 30 years. I can tutor any type of math [more]

I am a Math educator and Statistics instructor: a certified high school Math teacher since 2004. I have taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Math Models, Pre-calculus and Advanced Quantitative Reasoning. I have my Bachelor's in Statistics and Master's in Math Education. I have for many years, used SPSS, JMP and R for data analysis for my graduate classes as well as helping other graduate students with their analysis. I have also taught statistics at the college level My areas of expertise a... [more]

Although I had small class sizes, most if not all my students passed the AP Stats exam with at least the minimum score. My masters degree required courses in probability theory which is one of the topics in a standard stats class. I also taught the class using graphing technology, so the student would learn using it as well. The trend in stats is conceptual understanding and knowing what to do with data. This approach frees the student to master thinking versus numerical number crunching. I have always enjoyed the field of mathematics and have a passion and desire to share it with others. [more]
