I've tutored AP statistics, college level introductory statistics, and stats content at the middle school and high school levels as subsections of other math coursework. I've also learned and tutored college level statistics applied to business and science (biostatistics) that covers applications such as analysis of variance and experimental design. I've also used statistics in my graduate research and written statistics content for textbooks aimed at middle school students and high school students. [more]

I graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with an M.Ed. in LTET in 2012. I have heard many times how many in America are struggling in mathematics, a subject that I consider to be extremely important, and a lot of fun. In late middle school and during high school, I started helping students in mathematics. My cousin Stan was my first client and by the time he entered college, I helped him get an A in first year calculus. I also helped many other students at Brookline High School ach... [more]

I received an A+ in college-level statistics at Duke, as well as completed coursework in statistics for behavioral sciences and research methods. I tutored Duke student athletes in college-level statistics. I developed hundreds of hours of video content for an educational technology startup, for which I explained statistics concepts, worked through problems, and recommended strategies for troubleshooting common challenges. I?ve been a tutor/teaching assistant since 2009, working with students from pre-K through college on subjects including language, performing arts, college counseling/standar [more]

I am tutoring students in both intro level statistics (basic probability, combinatorics, binomial distributions, central limit theory, normal distributions, T-tests, P-tests, hypothesis testing) and intermediate statistics (regression, correlation, F-tests, ANOVA, hierarchical clustering, principal component analysis, multivariate analysis). I use statistics everyday in my regular scientific software consulting practice, and I very much like finding the few key conceptual threads that will unravel the field for new students. [more]

I primarily teach Finance, Econ, and other business/MBA/CFA courses. That said, help with Stats is a pretty regular request I get from my regular students. Many of the courses I tutor involve stats to various degrees as well (the CFA material cover intro stats reasonably in depth, Econometrics is all stats, and simulations and various Excel programs regularly require stats). Though I tend to prefer my Norma specialties, I'm happy to discuss tutoring for stats classes for lower level and intro classes. If you're deep into a stats degree, however, you may be better off finding another tutor. I [more]

I have successfully worked with students of various backgrounds and ages to improve their understanding of statistics, so I'm confident that I can help you too. In addition to helping you answer problems, I will help you understand the underlying concepts by giving you real-world examples and showing you techniques and diagrams that you can use to illustrate the concepts. In addition to improving your grades, this will enable you to derive the solutions rather than having to rely on memorizing abstract formulas. [more]
