I remember when I first learned about confidence intervals, hypothesis tests, and sampling distributions in my first college Statistics course. I was amazed how elegant and powerful these concepts were. Since then, I have taken Mathematical Statistics, Data Analysis & Visualization, and Econometrics and received A or A+ in all of them. I even did research in Statistics (specifically Biostatistics/Paleobiology) and published my own paper. I am on my way to become a PhD student in Statistics. In the meantime, I have tutored many students in AP Statistics, college level Statistics and Probability [more]

With my unique background and education, I can work successfully with a wide variety of students who have a wide variety of "issues" with learning math. I understand where the problems are, and how best to get past them and onto a confident path to math success. My undergraduate degree is in mathematics, and I have worked as a computer professional, as well as a math tutor. My doctoral degree is in psychology. I think this is a wonderful combination: I can relate to students, understand t... [more]

If you answered ?yes? to ANY of the above questi... [more]

When I began tutoring a few years ago, I firmly believed that anyone could do well in mathematics, all the way through Calculus, provided you are relatively fluent in a few formulas and make time for regular problem sets. My experience over that time has only confirmed my suspicions, and its has been a great pleasure to work with many of my students. I have always found joy in getting to the point of a big concept and keeping the focus on the purposeful real-world applications that many of ... [more]

I did well in AP Statistics last year and am very familiar with the material and how the exam is structured. I have also tutored in math for about four years and I'm very patient and experienced. Hello, I'm Isabel! I'm a college undergraduate student at the University of San Francisco, studying computer science and physics. I tutored both middle school and high school students throughout my years in high school, in all levels of math from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. I was also a peer tutor for a Pre-Calculus class my senior year, and provided extra help for students in the class, answering que [more]

I came to the United States when I was 18 back in 2005. I earned a BA in History. While working on my BA, I taught Spanish and became a court interpreter. I taught Spanish for 3 years. I was born and raised in Mexico, so I speak Spanish (and English) natively. In 2010 I moved to Austin Texas to pursue graduate studies in public policy (which translates to economics and statistics). I have been a statistical programmer for a company based in Washington DC since 2012. I work mostly in Stata... [more]

I have been tutoring biology for six years and various subjects in math for over a decade. I have a true passion for learning and exploration in the hard sciences and want to convey to each and every student that while aspects of it may be challenging, the understanding of the world that comes from it is both beautiful and invaluable. I try to heavily focus on helping students answer their own questions to create interactions that allow them to experience for themselves, not merely witness, t... [more]
