I have tutored and studied, at a graduate level, a broad range of math topics focusing on calculus and statistics. I have found math tutoring to be one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. Many students report that they do not like math and/or are not good at math. Many of the people I have tutored have experienced success in math for the first time and that success was all they needed to change their mind, at least somewhat, on both counts. I love math, and it is very rewarding... [more]

My primary area of study is Statistics and Probability, and I can help students who are struggling in this area understand the basic concepts as well has how to apply Statistics to real world situations. I love tutoring this subject as it allows me to really help people understand a subject that can sometimes be confusing and to make it much easier to follow and apply. I have an undergraduate degree from CSU Fullerton in Mathematics and Statistics with a Finance Cognate. I helped run the Math tutoring lab for almost 5 years, and have been tutoring for longer than that, having worked for 3 dif [more]

My name is Whitney Azizi and I am a female tutor for female students. I have over 8 years of experience tutoring women and girls in math and am proficient in all math subjects from elementary through calculus. I pride myself on being a patient, friendly, and relatable tutor for my students and have chosen to be a gender specific tutor in order to increase self confidence in girls and to ensure the comfortable environment needed to promote learning. It's also worth noting that I meet all of my... [more]

I've worked with dozens of students in AP Statistics, many of whom participated in courses led by AP Statistics test designers from the College Board. I've worked with university-level students at UCLA, USC, CSULB, and CSUF, from a variety of academic disciplines like Nursing, Finance, and Biochemistry. The utility of this subject's ideas is not lost on me, and I'm eager to improve any student's command of hypothesis testing, linear regression, and Chi-squared fit testing. I suspect I've come to an understanding of mathematics unlike just about anyone you might have met. I could discuss it [more]

If you're feeling lost in Stats, I totally understand. The first time I ever took Stats, I was completely lost. The formulas didn't make sense and I struggled to remember them, how to apply them, and what was the point of all these different statistical tests...? Also, I had no idea how to work my calculator. I would do things that I had memorized from what my teacher showed me, but I had no idea what I was doing or why I was doing it. Anyway, the turning point came when I went to Harvard and had to take Stats for my Biology concentration. I was lucky and had an awesome Teaching Fellow (bas [more]

Hello! My name is Justin. I graduated from UC Davis with a bachelor's in atmospheric science. You might be asking: "Atmospheric Science? What's that?!" Atmospheric science is a broad and interdisciplinary field, and it involves meteorology (weather forecasting), climatology, atmospheric physics, atmospheric chemistry (which includes air pollution), and hydrometeorology (when hydrology meets meteorology). Studying atmospheric science requires tons of math and physics, so I can ensure you that ... [more]

I am a graduate of UCLA with a bachelors degree in Mathematics and a master degree in biostatistics. I am recently retired following a four decade career in aerospace as a software engineer. While in college I tutored both young and adult students in math and chemistry and tutored both my sons in math throughout their school years and my wife when she returned to get a college degree. I love being able to pass on my knowledge to others and the stimulation on continuing to work in the field... [more]

A lot of students find statistics to be very interesting since the other math they have taken is so abstract while this involves real life applications. I found that the news made more sense since so much of the world is based on statistical concepts. I had no idea that football coaches used statistical computations to plan their plays! It gave me a new perspective on a lot of things and I try to pass that on to my students. I have been tutoring for 19 years. I started out at Goldenwest college in their math/computer lab and also their music department since I have degrees in both music and c [more]

I have tutored many students in college and MBA level business statistics classes. I tutor college and graduate school level business classes, specializing in Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Statistics. I hold an MBA from UC Irvine with an emphasis in finance and am a CFA charter holder. I believe in teaching students solid fundamentals. If I notice a deficiency I will regress to the most basic level to form fundamentals and build on them. For tests or quizzes I review sample tests with the students and discuss test-taking strategy. I don't believe in studying just to... [more]

I will be glad to help you in economics, financial accounting, managerial (cost) accounting or finance. I have an MBA degree with a concentration in accounting. In addition, I have also passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam with good scores. I also worked for a CPA firm for 3 years where I performed mostly governmental audits, financial compilations and reviews. However, to make a long story short, I found out that public accounting was not for me (boooorrriinnnnnng).... I have worked as a tu... [more]
