I took a statistics class in college. I earned an A- grade in the course. I graduated with a B.A. in History and a B.S. in Biology with Research Certification at Gonzaga University in May 2015. I have tutored science, history, math and writing for over 10 years. I love learning and approaching questions using several different techniques. I don't believe that there is only one way to learn, or one way to teach. I have found that many students feel that they are the only ones struggling. My goal is to give students a safe zone in which they can express their ideas, ... [more]

I have been teaching math and statistics at the two-year college level for over ten years. My most frequently-taught subjects are Algebra (1 & 2) and Statistics, but have experience also in Precalculus, Calculus, and Pre-Algebra. I have experience working with students in person and remotely, and have degrees in Statistics and Math Education. It's my belief that no student is "bad at math", they just may have had a bad experience with it. I want to try to make the subject as real and as fun a... [more]

As a math major, I provided tutoring to classmates in the full range of math subjects. Following graduation I put my math and physics to practical use in military aviation. For the last five years I have been instructing a range of aviation topics, including both classroom and hands-on contexts. All of this has involved instructing math and physics. I enjoy seeing a student grasp a new concept. I have found that every student learns differently. When an approach that works with one st... [more]

Statistics is my passion. Each time I tutor a session I learn something new. There is descriptive statistics and inferential statistics(probability). Essentially statistics deals with the gathering and preparation of data. I have been tutoring stats for five years. I hold a B.A. in Chemistry from The University of Washington and have been tutoring for over twenty years. I find many students need the one on one tutoring that they do not always receive in school. Learning comes about from the connection between student and teacher. I teach math, algebra, trigonometry, statistics, SAT & GED prepa [more]

Understanding mathematical concepts promotes creativity in solving mathematical problems. Anyone who understands math can correctly work the problems at the level of their understanding; however, it is possible to do math, even advanced math and especially with a calculator, and yet not understand any of it. Understanding offers alternatives to problem solving, and insight into the problem itself, especially when applied to physics. Confidence also is concomitant with understanding. Whe... [more]
