I have both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Mathematics with an emphasis in Statistics. I earned these degrees while on full academic scholarship at two different institutions. I am a certified secondary mathematics teacher in three states and I have taught AP Statistics previously with over half of my students earning college credit via their AP Exam score. I have experience teaching Statistics at the collegiate level as well, with tutoring specifically tailored to students who are not as confident in their mathematical ability, but need statistics for their major. I primarily focused on [more]

I graduated December 2016 from a doctoral program in Experimental Psychology. Throughout my time as a graduate student, I worked, studied, ate, and breathed statistics and experimental methods. I have extensive experience assisting undergraduate and graduate students with conducting and translating SPSS input/output (differences between parametric and non parametric, t-tests, ANOVAs, regressions, correlations, etc.), conducting statistical analyses by hand, providing tailored lessons and ... Growing up as a sports fan, I always gravitated to statistics. In school and professionally, I have also had many roles where my propensity to dig into stats has been helpful. Usually, I can take the strange terms and turns them into normal language for those who are struggling. This lead to many "Ah-Ha!" moments. I have over 20 years experience helping student improve their performance in math courses and standardized tests. I have an BS in Engineering with Math minor and also an MBA but more importantly, I have found that many of my 'secrets' of success can be easily passed on. The proc [more]

My educational background is in economics and math, with master's degrees in business and computer science. I have taken and passed the Praxis II content exam and the ARC course for certification as a middle school and high school math teacher in Connecticut. My course work in undergraduate included probability / statistics courses as well as courses in econometrics (regression analysis). I have substituted in stats courses at the high school level on numerous occasions. In the current environment, a significant portion of the curriculum in other courses such as Geometry and Algebra 2 a [more]

I was certified in 2013 and 2016 with TEFL through SAFEA and the International TEFL Academy. During college, I focused on calculus and chemistry, while also being a TA for the computer science department. Between 2013-2014, I spent a year teaching English in China, as well. Most recently, I have been giving additional English lessons both in person and online to friends and colleagues. I particularly enjoy tutoring because of the chance to get to know the students' learning styles more clo... [more]

Statistics can baffle the best of us, so seeking guidance to help wade through the wealth of material is often helpful! It's mathematical based terminology often intimidates students before they get to see the usefulness of the subject! Once understood however, statistics opens our eyes to see the truth of what is NOT said in so many of the claims and promises rampant in advertising at all levels! It thus has practical uses that extend beyond the classroom and will forever change the way you see the world! [more]
