The TAKS test: it's supposed to measure what you know, but in reality, it tests your ability to take tests as much as the knowledge you're supposed to be able to display. The intent of the TAKS exam is to test some but not of the subject content objectives. My content area is math. During my student teaching in Spring Branch ISD (5th and 7th grade Reading/ELA) and subsequent years as a classroom teacher, I practiced TAKS/STAAR testing techniques each semester, with heavy emphasis in the spring.
