I have experience preparing students for the TEAS and HESI exam. This includes math drills, reading comprehension, and study strategies. I combine both targeted prep books and supplementary materials to best help my students prepare for their exams. If they have taken the TEAS or HESI before, we also look at the feedback from score reports to determine how to best structure the preparation. I am a UC Berkeley graduate who is currently in the Cal Teach Credential program which is preparing me to teach High School Math meaning I have a lot of experience teaching and presenting content in differe [more]

I have been tutoring for almost 30 years now, and have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics. Many of my adult students who come to me for tutoring are Nursing students who need to pass their Math courses in order to move on and/or be accepted into the Nursing program. One of the last requirements in being accepted into the Nursing program is passing the TEAS. I like to teach my students test strategy. The more you practice the actual format of the test, the more comfortable and confident you'll feel taking the real test. Less anxiety going into the test will allow you to think better! [more]

I am a full-time TEAS/HESI tutor and am one of the few tutors across the country who truly specializes in all sections of this exam. I have tutored hundreds of students on this exam and many of my students have achieved superior results through my tutoring. Many of my students score in the 90-95th percentile and above, with some even receiving perfect scores. I have consistently received strong recommendations from those that I tutor the TEAS/HESI on. I am currently a tutor for the Princeton Review, have taught at UCLA (TA), and have 11+ years of private tutoring experience working with tutori [more]

As its name implies, TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) tests a student's basic knowledge of both math and language concepts. Not only do I have three CA teaching credentials (including math and English), but I have many years' experience tutoring students for many different tests just like this (ACT, SAT, CAHSEE, GRE, and more). I help students not only so they can get through this test, but so the knowledge remains with them. I am a patient, caring, and successful tutor. My goal is to teach my students *how* to learn so they no longer need to rely on me. In addition to three Clear Cali [more]

I have tutored test prep subjects for the last 40 years, and specifically helped many students achieve success in all the TEAS subject areas. There are a number of strategies that have enabled me to successfully transmit my own abilities at acing standardized tests (my college education at UCLA was completely funded by a combination of diverse scholarships, all of which commented on my top performance on standardized tests as a major factor in winning the awards). I continued to learn as a test-taker and also in the impartation of knowledge tested in TEAS while in graduate school in Berkeley [more]

Hello. I have both breadth and depth in the sciences and mathematics, including microbiology, chemistry, and physics/physical science. I have been tutoring students for the TEAS test for two years. I received a BS in Biological Science with an emphasis in ecology and with microbiology and Applied Mathematics. I also have four years of instructional assistance experience in microbiology at Butte College. During this time at Butte College, I also tutored students in mathematics, biology, chemistry, English, and physics. This was accomplished in a multidisciplinary (science/mathematics) capacity [more]

My teaching career began in the early 1970s, when I was a law student, and I was asked to be the youngest lecturer within the University of San Francisco, teaching within the Sociology Department to undergraduates. My students were, initially, mostly nursing students. I was teaching a legal survey course called Civil Liberties, but I covered a great deal of material that the nursing students were not getting anywhere else within their curriculum. As a result, I became very familiar with what my students needed to learn in their chosen field, not merely the subject matter advertised within my l [more]

I have successfully tutored students who have taken the exam and have been admitted into their respective nursing programs. My knowledge in the four subject areas, combined with my experience in tutoring TEAS students, has allowed me to create an organized approach when preparing students for this exam. My detailed approach to the exam covers all the content for each subject. Specifically: Reading Comprehension - Paragraph Comprehension - Passage Comprehension Mathematics - Numbers and Operations - Algebraic Applications - Data Interpretation - Measurement Science - Human Body Science - L [more]
