Hi, I'm a 5th year graduate student at UT Arlington working towards a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics. Outside of the lab, I have spent the last 6 years alternating between a teaching assistant for the physics labs at UTA and a tutor in UTA's physics clinic. Before become a graduate student, I was tutoring at both UTA's physics clinic and the Tarrant County College Northwest Campus's Math Emporium; I also provided private tutoring off-campus to a wide range of students. Thank... [more]

I am not new to the art of helping people refine the skills needed for them to reach their full potential. While I cannot force you to learn anything, nor guarantee it will be easy, I can help you not only with the subject matter, but can enhance your ability to cultivate a mindset characteristic of success. If you interests and needs are in the sciences and math, well you have come to the right place as I am a student of mechanical engineering and we do a bit of both in there. If you a... [more]

Hello to all my profile visitors! I have a BA in physics from Rice University which included a lot of mathematics and physics, and I am Texas-certified to teach secondary math and physics. I taught both subjects at the high school level, and I tutored junior high and high school subjects while I was in college. I probably have about equal amounts of tutoring hours working with high school as with college students, and I've helped a couple of middle school students with algebra as well. ... [more]

Currently I am on staff as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Temple College, and as an Adjunct Instructor of Mathematics at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The college classes I teach consist mostly of College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus (1 and 2) and Elementary Statisti... [more]

Trig is geometry with a lot more calculations. Much more rigorous detail to memorizing formulas and manipulating identities is a must. I have been teaching for 7 years and I am certified for both Middle and High School. I am Special Education certified as well. I am a firm believer that my students need to demonstrate a basic understanding of any concept that we are working on by doing it by hand and not go to a calculator first. The student needs to think through the problem first and develop a process for problem solving. Learning the foundational concepts and skills are critical before w [more]

I am a full-time college student who is pursuing my passion for working with others to understand math! Though I am pursuing my degree in Mathematics Education to become a teacher, my passion is simply to help others understand math. Too many students simply get passed from one grade to the next without being provided the opportunity to truly receive an education, and that is why I wish to tutor. I want to allow students a way to receive an extra leg up and to be able to receive extra help,... [more]

I have practiced engineering for the past 20 years, and math is a critical part of that job. While I have no formal teaching or tutoring experience, I have tutored GED students as well as my own children in various levels of math and have mentored younger engineers and technicians in my most recent job. There is no greater satisfaction to a teacher than when their student sees the light. I have enjoyed the subject of math for over 30 years. It was half of the reason I pursued and acqui... [more]
