Trig is geometry with a lot more calculations. Much more rigorous detail to memorizing formulas and manipulating identities is a must. I have been teaching for 7 years and I am certified for both Middle and High School. I am Special Education certified as well. I am a firm believer that my students need to demonstrate a basic understanding of any concept that we are working on by doing it by hand and not go to a calculator first. The student needs to think through the problem first and develop a process for problem solving. Learning the foundational concepts and skills are critical before w [more]

Though I am pursuing my degree in Mathematics Education to become a teacher, my passion is simply to help others understand math. Too many students simply get passed from one grade to the next without being provided the opportunity to truly receive an education, and that is why I wish to tutor. I want to allow students a way to receive an extra leg up and to be able to receive extra help,... [more]
