I am a recent graduate at Kent State University, and have been a math tutor for three years at the university. I absolutely LOVE helping out with high school and college math. Although I primarily enjoy working with algebra, trigonometry, geometry and calculus, I also love to help out with English and proofreading. I graduated in May of 2014, and I don't know what I would do without math still being a daily part of my life! I am willing to work late nights/early mornings and weekends. I am pr... [more]

Mathematics can be a fun and useful tool. It certainly is a necessity to master math for any technical career aspirations. With a keen eye for finding and removing "mental blocks" which students might have, for math in general, or for specific math topics, I am eager to help students unlock their potential for using and even enjoying math. As a tutor back in my college days, for a few undergraduate engineering students, I was able to convert struggling students into ones who were the first... [more]

Trig is an incredibly useful branch of mathematics. It's used by pasta designers, machinists, oceanographers and physicists. The symmetry and periodic functions are awesome! My strategy for helping students memorize the unit circle has consistently been successful. I always try to tie Trigonometry into other concepts the student already understands. Hello!
