Trigonometry expands the student's math studies to a new area. This study draws on concepts from both algebra and geometry. Often when students have an area from these precursor math topics that, for some reason, is missing from their math toolbox, moving forward can be frustrating -- or even impossible. I am good at assessing students who are struggling with trigonometry, and then bolstering their skills. This focused work results in confidence for them to proceed successfully. I am a current math tutor with the Visions in Education program of the San Juan Unified School District. In [more]

I have several years of experience tutoring math for High School, Middle School, and College students. Through that time, I have seen many different learning styles, attention levels, and exposure to math concepts. Trigonometry is very logical and formula based, so I will help students improve their understanding through formula sheets and problems I have created for students to solve that involve the manipulations of the equations into their different forms. Starting Fall 2017, I will begin teaching Math at Berkeley HS. [more]

I am a graduate of the University of Miami, Florida, achieving a B.S. and a M.S. degree, majoring in math. I have been tutoring math to students of all ages one-one-one since the early 1990s. My strength in teaching math is my ability to make abstract math understandable to students. After working with me, regular students of all ages or those who have different learning modalities will all find math easy. Confidence is an attitude that makes a world of difference in learning. I will change... [more]

I have used trigonometry extensively in multiple applications, especially in math and engineering settings. It is used heavily in physics. I make it a priority to flesh out trig using examples. Learning has always been a passion in my life. Academic learning, life experience, motivational books. Just name it. I have helped and tutored grade levels from elementary to college, where I majored in Chemical Engineering. I took time to understand concepts and extended these understandings to different subjects. I took AP science, math, history and social science courses in high school and continued [more]

I am an engineer by training so I?m very familiar and comfortable with a wide range of mathematical concepts, including Trigonometry. I have also tutored several students over the years needing help with Math at both high school and college levels. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: As an undergraduate student at Florida International University (FIU) from 2001 to 2005, I often found myself tutoring my study groups in several subject areas, from Biochemistry to advanced Calculus, which greatly helped my performance in each class. By my senior year, I obtained a teaching assistantship for a graduate level c [more]

Hello, My name is Brian and I graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. I have taken pretty much every core math class from Algebra to Vector Calculus. I have always excelled in math and during high school I found that I am also pretty good a teaching it to others. I have been a tutor on this site for almost 2 years now. I have helped students at all levels, but a majority of my students have been in high school or college. I tutored a bit... [more]

Tutoring is an act of observation. It succeeds where normal instruction fails because it is geared toward a student's particular strengths. My best experiences as a tutor have been with the students who needed me most, learning how they needed to learn. I have been a tutor in one setting or another since childhood. As an undergraduate I was a teacher's assistant in English, German and Astronomy, a grader in Calculus and a tutor in Physics for scientists and engineers. I have continued to... [more]

Hi Students, I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis and I earned my MBA in Finance at CSU Hayward (East Bay). While I was at UC Davis, I placed 2nd in the Undergraduate Mathematics Exam and represented UC Davis in both the Putnam International Mathematics Competition and in the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Western Regional programming competition. While I love working as a consultant (more on that in a subsequent paragraph), I also really enjoy math and ha... [more]

Trigonometry incorporates the study of sine and cosine and tangent relationships, Pythagorean identities, angle sum and difference identities, double angle and multiple angle formulas, power reduction and half angle formulas, products to sum and sum to products identities, inverse trigonometric functions, identities with no variables, proofs using a differential equation, and geometric proofs. I tutored all of the above concepts and their applications to high school and college students. I have a BSc in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry and minors in Biology and Mathematics. I also h [more]

I like tutoring and proud of teaching hundreds of high school, college, and university students. I tutor in my home office as well as within 10 miles radius from my office. My teaching methods have proven success for better grades in local and state exams. I tutor MATH, SCIENCE, AND ENGLISH for success on SAT, ACT, GED, MCAT, TOEFL, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Algebra 1, Algebra 2. I hold BS degree in math and science, MS degree in chemistry, major in organic chemistry, and P... [more]
