I have been tutoring for over 12 years, working with students to achieve their academic goals. Having been recognized in the past as one of Wyzant's Top 100 tutors, I have had the pleasure of helping hundreds of students drastically improve their grades, gain admission to the private schools and universities of their choice, and achieve fantastic results on the PSAT and SAT. A little about me: I attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I was in the Natio... [more]

For over 5 years, I have tutored Trigonometry to many students. Also, I am math certified by the state of Texas for grades 7-12. My teaching method is to help my students understand the math concepts by applying real life experiences and prior knowledge. Building on these basic math steps helps build a foundation when math concepts become harder and more challenging. Repetitive math and relevancy to word problems aids in succeeding in understanding the concepts fully. With my background, credentials and knowledge, I am able to teach Trigonometry because I can teach other types of math courses [more]

I am a graduate student at Houston Baptist University, pursuing my Master of Arts in Biblical Languages. I also work with our Student Success Center as a tutor (for Algebra & Trigonometry) and our College of Science and Mathematics as a tutor and a lab assistant/TA. I love math, especially Algebra. Hi, my name is Faraz, and I would love to be your tutor! I grew up in Mississippi and attended high school there. Ever since I graduated from high school I wanted to come to Texas. When I was 19, I packed up and did. I worked in Texas for a while so that I could get my instate residency and then attended college at Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, I majored in Chemistry with a minor in computer science. I took quite a few math courses as well as some engineering courses. After TTU, I... [more]

Trigonometry is now taught with a very strong emphasis on the algebraic manipulation of trig functions that is crucial to the mathematical description of curves, vectors and multidimensional motion. Students are often introduced to rather advanced topics in this subject without sufficient preparation and as a result they try to memorize procedures without really understanding what they are doing. This is very unsatisfactory for both students and examiners. I know how to fill in the gaps and enjoy doing so! [more]
