I had perfect grades in all math related high school and university courses for my degree in electrical engineering, which uses trigonometry concepts often. I particularly enjoy trigonometry because it is a well-contained branch of mathematics that contains a lot of beauty, even though it seems difficult at first because of all the confusing new terminology and algebra tricks that must be memorized. In my experience, strategically memorizing key concepts and lots of practice are keys to success in trigonometry. [more]

I have a Master's in Teaching with a concentration in math and English. I formerly taught trigonometry as part of a spiral math curriculum when working overseas in the Peace Corps. Students there were preparing to take the Cambridge exams, and I worked with them in class five days a week to prepare. A portion of our preparation was trig. In tutoring Algebra 2, I regularly work with students to understand trigonometric concepts and apply them to real world problems. I started my work out of college as a middle school teacher. Then, I worked in business world to learn how knowledge is used [more]

I did quite well in all my middle and high school math classes, including trigonometry. I was often the go-to girl for helping my friends understand math concepts they were struggling with. I was able to figure out how to explain the concepts or problems in a way that made sense to them. Later, I used those same skills in a math tutoring program I helped set up at my high school through our school's chapter of the National Honor Society. I eventually majored in mathematics at Rice University, where I was an academic fellow, tutoring students in college-level mathematics, among other subjects. [more]
