My name is Abbey and I'd love to be your tutor. I have been tutoring for over five years. I am a former MIT student and I graduated from UAlbany with a BS in Mathematics and Statistics and a minor in Economics. I have a lot of experience tutoring. I recently moved to Buffalo from Albany. While I was in Albany, I worked with three private local tutoring companies. In addition to those, as you can see, I am a tutor with WyzAnt. I have logged over 5,000 tutoring hours at WyzAnt. I was ran... [more]

I found trig to be the purest form of high school math. I loved it as a kid and had almost a perfect year when I took the subject. I scored 100% on the regents exam with quarterly grades of 98 or 99 all quarters. Although that was in 1965-66 I still have a complete understanding of trig and believe that I could make most students understand how it works. Although I was a meteorologist for 40 years I always loved math more than anything and always wanted to teach students who found math a challenge or difficult. I have had almost 5 years of experience tutoring math including algebra, geom [more]

I have been developing software for over 30 years. I started as a 14 year old with BASIC on a Commodore 64, moving on to assembly language and writing complex 8-bit algorithms while still a teenager. In college, I studied Computer Engineering with a focus on software, and received my Master's degree in 1993. During my college career, I learned fundamentals of computer hardware and software design, as well as electrical engineering concepts, probability and statistics, queuing theory, computer... [more]

I truly enjoy seeing those I teach "get it" and have that "ah ha" moment. A structural engineer by trade, I have to continually learn new things each and every day. It's my job! Math is my specialty of course, but I don't fit the mold as a typical engineer as I enjoy interacting with people too. Tutoring experience? Well...besides the hours on wyzant tutoring mostly algebra and trigonometry I have previously volunteered to teach at engineering outreach events at the Buffalo Museum of Sci... [more]

I love to teach and want to help you reach your goals! With a decade of experience in teaching full time and several years of real work software engineering experience, I can help you learn math and technical concepts in a fun and meaningful way. I have 6 years experience working in in software development with reputable companies. I also have a degree in Computer Engineering. Finally, I've taught software engineering concepts in classes for a local district. I have my secondary teaching... [more]

I've tutored people in calculus for three years. In that time, it's been much more common for students to struggle with tangential mathematical concepts, rather than calculus itself. Trigonometry, in particular, is a subject that I've helped calculus students with countless times. I also taught a class in pre-calculus that had significant overlap with trigonometry. I've tutored and taught mathematics and physics in a lot of different contexts. Right now, I'm working as a mathematics teaching assistant at the University of Buffalo, but I've also worked as a lecturer for a five-week course in pr [more]

Hello. My name is William. I am a certified math teacher. I specialize in high school grade levels of math. I have taught prealgebra, geometry and algebra 2 with high levels of mastery. When teaching I believe in efficiency and rigor. When designing curriculum, I will focus on the core standards and how to learn the core ideas effectively. I also can help with your day to day course work and homework. My goal, above all else, is ensuring that my students are able to develop and keep the a... [more]

I have taught high school math for 29 years. I currently teach AP calculus, AP statistics and an applied statistics course, but I have taught every course from algebra 1 on up. I enjoy helping students one on one, as I believe this is the best way to help students improve their understanding and their grades. Through tutoring, I feel that I am better able to reach students by connecting with the way that they learn. I have tutored both high school and college students for the past 15 yea... [more]

Hi, my name is Frank. I graduated from the University of Buffalo with a BA in Mathematics and a provisional certification (now expired) to teach High School Mathematics.
