I have tutored many students in trigonometry. My minor in college and graduate school was mathematics. I worked in industry as an engineer for over 30 years and my work required me to have a thorough understanding of trigonometry. "Our Goal Is Grade A" I am passionate about math, physics, and chemistry and I am easy to understand. I try to make students very comfortable with me because I understand that their level of learning, comprehension, and confidence increases in a comfortable setting. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but did not want the task of classroom management. I have found working individually and with groups of students to be very rewarding and fun. As someone who enjoys learning and school, I wish to instill this love for lifelong learning in others. Additionally, I recognize how difficult it is to obtain a job without a college degree, and I cannot imagine how difficult it would be to obtain one without a high school degree. I hope to help others reach their... [more]

Whether taking this as a class of its own, or as part of some other class, you will want to know your unit circle, and be able to prove various trig identities. Learn how to graph polar coordinates and use formulas like de Moivre's formula. The basics of Trigonometry tend to be taught in Geometry and/or Algebra II, but you will need it throughout Precalculus, and Calculus. From 2006 to 2010, I had taught mathematics, and since 2010 have been a full-time private tutor. I work with students on topics from Prealgebra to Calculus, whether specifically for a class, or as part of test preparatio [more]

I have taught trigonometry for 5 years in local schools and 4 years in California. I find that a good review of the Unit Circle is very helpful to new or returning trig students. I love showing practical applications for trig. Hello! I enjoy tutoring and helping students achieve. I have taught at all levels - university, community college, and most recently (as a substitute teacher) in high, middle and elementary school. These experiences have given me the ability to adjust my teaching methods and approach to specific needs of each age group and skill level. My Approach to Tutoring: My AC [more]

I love trigonometry and have tutored it for the last few years. There are many parts of trigonometry which can be confusing, but I like to think I can make it easier. Hi. I am Joanne. I have been a math teacher for almost 20 years. I have also taught at Sylvan, where in addition to teaching their programs, I do a lot of homework support and Test prep. My students often request me because I can explain things in many different ways. I love to see students succeed. I can tutor anything prealgebra, algebra1, algebra 2, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, and college algebra, along with test p [more]

Students usually get exposed to Trig in Geometry through SoaCahToa. Then, they'll either get a full on exposure through Honors Algebra II, or their regular pre-calc class. Trig is almost as important as Algebra, because its a fundamental language of math. Many applications in Calculus and Physics use Trig because many things in life happen at angles. Trig is not a hard topic to understand if it's given enough practice, just like Algebra. I graduated from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor majoring in Biochemistry and will complete my medical degree from the University of Toledo College of [more]

I am a very knowledgeable tutor with degrees in business, public health, toxicology, and pharmacy. I am looking to assist in the matriculation of college students, and to help them absorb the lessons. College is not easy, and sometimes we just need someone to help provide a little extra 1 on 1 help in a subject. That's where I come in!! Years and years of math. I have taken advanced classes in high school, and nearly 15 years of college level math courses including algebra, calculus, t... [more]

Hi, I recently graduated with my Master's at George Mason. I have many years of experience tutoring many subjects, with an emphasis of math. I then became a private math tutor 5 years ago, helping students learn and re-emphasize various math concepts. I can tutor any math level, from elementary through high school. I also can tutor in statistics, up to the college/graduate level. It is up to you how long you would like each tutoring session to run and how many sessions per week. The session... [more]
