I always enjoy teaching Trig and have been doing so for about ten years. For many students, learning the unit circle at first seems like it will require a lot of memorization. I love showing students how they really only need to memorize a couple of things, and the rest of the unit circle can be filled out by understanding how each component fits together. I also enjoy showing students how other tricky parts of trig (like graphing transformations of trig functions) are doable if they break the process down step-by-step. [more]

Hello. I am a lifelong learner of math and science who likes to connect the dots, and I would like to share what I have learned. I have taught algebra and trigonometry in college. I have also tutored high school and college algebra, calculus, and everything in between for several years, plus linear algebra and differential equations. I graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's in math and a minor in physics. I was not always interested in math, but I was always interested in science. ... [more]

I graduated from Washington State University in May 2012 with a B.S. in Theoretical Mathematics and a minor in Physics. Going through this difficult process with a wife and two young children, I recognize the challenges modern families face. Since graduating, I have started helping friends and other students with their studies, and found I have quite a knack for breaking down complex ideas and making them easy to understand. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, and I can honestly say that tutoring... [more]

Learning trigonometry is more than memorizing which buttons to use on a calculator, and yet this subject -- fundamental in all branches of mathematics -- is frequently reduced to calculator operations. I'll teach you how to make and use your own diagrams as a durable problem-solving method you can carry with you. Learn how to check your solutions to know your answers are correct and learn memorization tools that will help you organize the wide range of concepts first introduced in this course. [more]

Trigonometry is the section of geometry that studies functions derived from relationships between triangle angles and sides and calculates unknown angles and sides when enough other elements of the triangle are known. It is usually taught in high school or college, is a frequently required prerequisite course to calculus, and has practical applications in astronomy, navigation, and surveying, among other fields. I have tutored several students in trigonometry over the past several years. I am an experienced, full-time tutor currently tutoring students from 1st grade level up to college level i [more]
