I have taught high school trigonometry courses and university level courses for 9 years! It is one of my favorite topics, and I've helped students pass these courses with a great success rate! I have a Masters in Mathematics Education from Southern Arkansas University. I have taught math for over 10 years on a variety of levels. From 5th grade math all the way to university level math, I love teaching the basics as well as algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus. Math is more than just memorizing formulas; math is about critical thinking and problem solving skills. During my 10+ yea [more]

I have taught and tutored Trigonometry on both the high school and College level for more than 40 years. I am familiar with content standards for this subject. I also use the online math programs like MathXL that many schools use in their classes. Trigonometry is my favorite subject. I have been teaching for 40 years and I still love it. For a student to be successful in the classroom, he or she needs to feel confident in the subject matter. I can give you that confidence. Over the years, I have tutored many students and enjoy the one-to-one learning environment. I currently teach Algebra 2 [more]

Trigonometry is an essential part of calculus and physics. I have a very natural understanding of the subject from years of using it in more advanced subjects like calculus, physics, linear algebra, complex analysis, etc. Trigonometry lends itself to being taught in a visual way, so in tutoring I will work to help the students visualize some of the formulas which appear daunting to first time students. "If it were easy, everyone would do it." Math isn't easy. Maybe for a precious few it's easy (and even for them there are some problems that are too hard to crack!), but for most of us it takes [more]

I made an A in Trigonometry at UNO. Hi, "My Turning Point Struggle with Math" I am Martin. I am an Electrical Engineer. When I started UNO, my ACT score placed me in remedial math. In my defiance of this placement, I received permission by the Dean to skip remedial math and take my first college algebra course. I ended up failing, having to retake, and failing again. The study skills I used in high school did not work at the university level and I was not as good at math as I thought I was. This was a crossroads for me. ... [more]

In my last three semesters at UNO, I worked as a tutor for Student Support Services (SSS). I took Math, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry students and helped them with weekly revisions, study techniques, quiz preps, and exam reviews. Before starting my job at SSS, I was already helping classmates and friends out when they needed any help in their classes. To me, it was fun to talk about something that I already understood. Furthermore, success in the form of the person doing better than they w... [more]
