I am a certified teacher in AZ with a specific addition to my certificate allowing me to teach high school math. When I am tutoring in trigonometry, I focus on demonstrating why the ratios work the way they do and give my students practical ways to remind themselves of the rules even in the most stressful of testing situations. My goal is to make trigonometry so easy that my students remember it for life. I have taught small groups and individuals for over 20 years, both in school settings and in students' homes or at neutral locations like coffee shops and bookstores. The first three quest [more]

I have taught and tutored in many different subjects in various parts of the world. Having benefited from one-on-one and small group instructions myself, I know the value in meeting each student at their level and working with their strengths to generate a command of the subject matter. I don't believe that anyone is "bad" at math or "bad" at English. We all are capable of understanding anything with personalized, careful instruction. I have extensive experience as a TA, as a tutor in math a... [more]

I have a 25-year background in IT, which has provided me with deep insights in both applied mathematics and sciences as well as experience in explaining new and seemingly complicated subjects to those for whom they are new territories. Having trained varied age groups from teenagers to retirees in anything from the use of smart phones and the Internet at large to programming, I have built a broad knowledge of how to relate information in an understandable fashion. My education includes compl... [more]

I have 3 1/2 years experience as a full-time academic tutoring. I am constantly reminded why I love teaching as a private one-on-one academic tutor/teacher. My job allows me to develop and grow as an educator. As I develop and grow, I see the results in my students and their successes. I tutor ages 2-70 across all the major subjects. It makes me smile as I review and teach concepts, all the little Ah-Ha moments I experience as I fill in the gaps in my own knowledge. It inspires me as my depth... [more]

As a retired teacher, I enjoy teaching 1:1. Having taught mathematics for over 25 years, I can find unique ways to teach when my students don't understand. I have a firm belief that anyone can achieve any level of mathematics with the right attitude and instruction. I currently teach at the community college part time and I have kept up with the latest approaches to math (Singapore style). I teach hands-on, straight forward, or just about any method that my students like. I'm patient, carin... [more]

I have a BSCE in Civil Engineering from ASU and an AA in Engineering from Eastern Arizona College. I have EIT certification which is one of the most difficult technical certifications to achieve. I have taken and passed several trigonometry related courses and I have tutored math at Arizona State University and Glendale Community College. I also have extensive experience tutoring GED math classes which contains trigonometry course material. I teach a can-do attitude towards math and I believe anyone can master their math courses if they will believe in themselves and work. [more]

I have a bachelor's in science in Molecular & Cellular Biology from University of Illinois. Genetics is at the core of most classes we take to meet our undergraduate science requirements. I use these same principles as a medical student, having passed the genetics and biology course at my medical school with ease. I also have done research on the genetics of how androgens (male sex hormones) affect prostate epithelial cells in the context of prostate cancer. I am published in this subject m... [more]

I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Mathematics in 2012 and completed a Masters in Educational Psychology with an Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate in 2018. During my time at UT I student-taught middle school aged students, took a directional class specializing in children's learning through play, and spent a summer teaching at an engineering summer camp. I taught high school math for 4 years and am currently completing my BCBA fieldwork with SEEK Arizona. My e... [more]

I have always enjoyed and excelled in math and physics. This was a major factor in my decision to study mechanical engineering at Arizona State University, where I graduated magna cum laude. During a portion of my time at ASU, I worked as a student tutor in the engineering tutoring center where I helped fellow students understand homework and test problems. In addition, I have tutored multiple high school students in math or physics on a private basis. I strive to not only explain concepts ... [more]

I earned my B. A. in Mathematics from Pomona College in 1986, and my M. Ed. from Grand Canyon University in 1989. Since then I have taught mathematics at the high school and college level. Trigonometry is a large part of the Precalculus curriculum, and I taught Precalculus as a high school class with a dual enrollment college credit option for approximately sixteen years. I truly enjoy trigonometry, and I try to make it clear and enjoyable for my students as well. I have taught math at the high school and college level for 28 years, tutoring throughout that time, prior to my retirement in 2 [more]
