I have 15 years of experience teaching mathematics to students of all ages and backgrounds, but I especially enjoy tutoring students one-on-one where I can focus on the student's individual learning needs. I have taught and tutored elementary, middle school, high school, and college students in arithmetic through pre-calculus. I have taught mathematics to students with many diverse needs, including students with physical and learning disabilities and English Second Language Learners from di... [more]

Hi Guys, My name is Sanjay. I am a current master's level graduate student who majored in physics at Pacific Union College. I have a very genuine passion for teaching and helping students learn. As cliche as it sounds, I really find joy in helping others better understand concepts or just help them learn something new. I am very patient, kind, hard-working, and have great communication skills. I do my best to guide my students towards, not only the right answer, but the correct thought proce... [more]

I tutored calculus during my undergraduate at University of California, Davis and received the "Distinguishes Tutor" award. After graduating with a math degree from UCD I continued to tutor at Viet My Tutoring Center, where I worked with students primary in high school math ranging from pre-algebra to calculus. I then became a teacher at Halstom, a private high school that specialized in one-on-one teaching. While teaching at Halstrom, I attended graduate school at California State ... [more]

I have been teaching Math for 7 years now. I have always loved math, and I am passionate about making people believe that Math is for everyone! I have encountered so many students with very little knowledge and mathematical skills, but I find these as the most exciting opportunities. Any students' AHA! moment will be a triumph I will always celebrate with them. I have been teaching Algebra I Honors Program and Geometry Honors Program for 3 years now. I like to prepare my students by scaffo... [more]

Trig was my favorite subject to teach at Crafton Hills. Whenever students came in for help with trig, I was so happy. We didn't receive much training for this subject, but I spent a lot of my own time studying the subject. This payed off. In calculus and physics, we spend a lot of time rewriting expressions using trig functions to solve problems. Also, most physical phenomena behave wavelike and, therefore, can be described using trigonometry. I have always enjoyed tutoring. I first started tutoring at Crafton Hills College in the tutoring center there. I loved getting to know all the peop [more]

Hello potential tutees! I'm a 28 year old certified math teacher. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in 2008. My major required a broad-range of higher level mathematics and science courses. While an undergrad, I started tutoring for a small, private tutoring company. I tutored in subjects ranging from Physics to Calculus. One of my students was even accepted to Stanford! This is my fifth year teaching mathematics in the classroo... [more]

Early on in my life, one class I felt that made sense always was math. I challenged myself and got to the highest math class I could get in, which was Calc BC at my high school. I have tutored for Precalculus, Calculus and most math subjects from 9th-grade math to calculus. I love helping other students excel in the subject they do not like and try to make it easy for them to learn. I'm currently enrolled to study at UCR this September for computer engineering, so I've been prepared rigoro... [more]

Tutoring combines three of my favorite things: Math, physics, and helping students succeed. I graduated from UCR with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics/Physics, and during my time there I had been a tutor and a Supplemental Instruction (kind of like group tutoring) leader. My favorite part about tutoring is seeing students get excited about figuring problems out on their own. Because math and physics tend to be difficult subjects for most, a lot of people give up and settle for average. However, ... [more]

I have recently completed a PhD in history from UCLA. I have a BS in mathematics and a BA in history. I also took enough physics classes to equal a physics minor. I then received a Master of Business Administration. I completed a MA in education in curriculum and instruction and also the requirements for California state teaching credentials in social studies (history), mathematics, physics, and business. Throughout this time, I have worked as a tutor of both high school and college studen... [more]

Trigonometry is another underappreciated level of mathematics usually tied up in pre-calculus or algebra 2. Trigonometry on its own is a challenge for three direct reasons. First, the student usually does not know how to interpret the unit circle effectively. Second, the student does not know how to graph trig functions effectively. Finally, the student usually does not know how to interpret what an inverse trig function means. Unless a student has a decent foundation in each of those areas, they will struggled on the final. Thankfully, I am proficient in every single on of these area. [more]
