I've taught students from several schools in algebra and trigonometry and have helped them improve their class scores, prepare for tests (like the End of Course or EOC), and raise their confidence where they before felt defeated. My passion for mathematics and abstract critical thinking, I believe, make my instruction as practical and even enjoyable for students as it is educational. I have been an in-person and online private tutor for different schools since 2006, including three years as a junior high school language specialist in public schools and an independent educator and activities di [more]

I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2015 from The University of Texas at Tyler. During the latter years of working on my degree, I privately tutored courses in advanced level math (calculus), science (physics), and several engineering courses. Currently, I am working on my Master's of Science in Structural Engineering online through The University of Texas at Arlington. My hope is to one day become a professor at a major university, and I feel that tutoring ... [more]

I hold a M.S. in Mathematics, and I have been tutoring and teaching for over 10 years. I believe that everyone has the ability to learn Math. Not everyone has the easiest time learning it in a classroom setting, of course, but I can honestly say I never tutored anyone who didn't understand the material after a little one-on-one explanation. I like to meet a student where they are, emphasize their strengths, and build on the knowledge and understanding they already have. I am a homeschooling mom with a B.S. in Mathematics and Latin from Louisiana State University, and a M.S... [more]

I am a high school math teacher. I have been teaching for five years. I teach Geometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Advanced Math, and 8th Grade Math. I have experience in the classroom as well as tutoring outside of the classroom. I use common core standards in my classroom and am familiar with EOC testing and ACT testing as well. I have a passion for teaching and for mathematics itself. I enjoy tutoring and providing one-on-one help for students who need a little extra push. For most student... [more]

Having trouble with trig? Can't get your head around implicit differentiation? Systems of equations not quite adding up? Call me for any of your math needs. I have a Bachelor's degree in Pure Math and have extensive experience tutoring high school and college students in 1-on-1 and small group settings in classes all the way from algebra through upper calculus and SAT/GRE Prep. I also have proficiency in physics and basic chemistry, music theory (lifelong trumpet player), and grammar/pro... [more]

It is a strong belief of mine that those who recognize the importance of education will go the distance in their future. My main objective as a math, science, and English tutor is to ensure that my students understand material through examples, explanations, and observation. Students are encouraged to participate 100% during our sessions in order to enhance their knowledge of the subject matter by taking notes, asking questions, and summarizing concepts with their own words. During my session... [more]

Trigonometry is very important before you enter Calculus. It helps to get some basic understanding of what the next mathematics is going to be like. The complexity of solving slowly increases, and who better than me to tutor in this subject and help students understand it. I would want the students to work hard, go through the class notes, chapters that he/she going to be tutored. It would let me know that students are interested in learning. I cannot solve all the problems, but I would try to help concentrate the students on how to solve problems without solving it. It sounds weird, but the [more]

I teach the six trigonometric functions using the right triangle and the "SOHCAHTOA" mnemonic. I also teach the unit circle methods and provide an easy method of finding trig values of the common angles used on the unit circle. I present useful methods for proving trig identities. Trigonometry was my favorite math class in high school where I maintained an A+ average. While it is based on the right triangle, its applications extend to most sciences and engineering, so it is a very important course. [more]
