I am an experienced math tutor with three years experience tutoring calculus and one year tutoring algebra. I've received all A's in my math classes in school. I also received a perfect score on the trigonometry proficiency exam on WyzAnt. Background I?ve always had a passion for teaching and working with young people, and I want to share my love for math and science with others. I believe that students can learn difficult concepts best in a one on one environment. The student?s aptitude will improve from exposure to my years of experience in both academics and industry. Trigonometry pays an important role in Pre-Calculus and Calculus . Trigonometry is my favorite subject. I have expertise in this subject. I give small - small but valuable tips to solve triangle, law of sines, law of cosine, verifying identities and graphing, etc. I am a result-oriented Math Tutor. I have 7+ years of tutoring experience. I can help you or your child to excel in math and overcome any problem areas. I specialize in all areas of Math: Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, etc. I also can help you or your child in test preparation, like SAT Math an [more]

Trigonometry expands the student's math studies to a new area. This study draws on concepts from both algebra and geometry. Often when students have an area from these precursor math topics that, for some reason, is missing from their math toolbox, moving forward can be frustrating -- or even impossible. I am good at assessing students who are struggling with trigonometry, and then bolstering their skills. This focused work results in confidence for them to proceed successfully. I am a current math tutor with the Visions in Education program of the San Juan Unified School District. In [more]

Trigonometry... literally the study of Triangles. But it's so much more. We quickly use the relationships found within triangles to define new functions and we have a discrete branch of Mathematics. Trigonometric principles and features abound in and are vital to the study of Calculus. It is a major part of Pre-Calculus courses and it is also still offered as a stand-alone course in High Schools. A fun subject for many students as it combines Algebra with periodic functions and novel problem-solving techniques. [more]

I have extensive experience tutoring high school students in both Algebra 2 and Precalculus, where they study trigonometry at various levels. I am extremely well-versed in all of the areas of trigonometry -- unit circle, modeling with periodic functions, trig identities and equations, angular velocity. My students find that the subject makes a lot more sense after they've studied it with me; they are able to see the "big picture," i.e., how the topics are tied together. Time for summer scheduling! Whether your student would like to preview the coming year's material, prep for a placement test, [more]

I am a highly successful high school physics and earth science teacher and tutor since 1996. I have been certified to teach physics and earth science/geosciences in three states including California. Courses that I have taught include Conceptual Physics, General Physics, Honors Physics, Advanced Placement Physics (both Calculus and non-Calculus based), Advanced Topics in Physics, Astronomy, Earth Science/Geoscience, Meteorology, Oceanography, Algebra Readiness, Algebra I, Algebra II and Pre... I have had a variety of different tutoring and teaching experiences over the years. In high school, I tutored my friends in math. In college, I started as an engineering student, in clubs that taught SAT workshops as well as just mentoring middle school and high school students, encouraging them to take interest in math, science, and engineering fields. I also tutored fellow engineering students in our math classes. When I switched my major to mathematics, I became part of a teaching fellows... [more]

I successfully completed Trigonometry as part of an Algebra 2/Trigonometry Honors course during my sophomore year of high school. During my junior and senior years, I tutored Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Trig students while I was taking Math Analysis and AP Calculus BC. After obtaining my Bachelor of Science degree from UC Davis, I worked as a tutor of high school math and science students. Then, I entered a teaching credential program, and obtained a California teaching credential for high school Biology and Chemistry. While working on my Master of Arts in Education degree, which I completed in [more]

I just completed my bachelor's degree in Mathematics a couple weeks ago from Sacramento State University. I have also been tutoring high school kids in trigonometry throughout last year. I'm currently a student at Sacramento State working towards my bachelors degree in mathematics. I have minimal experience in tutoring but I am looking forward to gaining more with the help of this site! I plan on becoming a high school math teacher upon graduating and I know tutoring will greatly aid me for that career in the future. I love working with students and helping them achieve their goals. My goal i [more]

Trigonometry can be a fun class. It links with precalculus. It is crucial that all the techniques we explore here connect directly with the techniques we see in precalculus and then calculus. Trig has many applications in physics and engineering. Approached properly it is relatively easy to learn. I've been a tutor for six years and have had success in raising students' grades and their focus and interest in the subject. I tell my students that this is maybe the easiest and most fun math class they will take. I believe that everyone can pass or get a good grade in this class and move on [more]
