Hello students, parents, and potential clients! I am currently looking for several highly motivated students who want to take their math and science skills to the next level. It's my goal to help my students achieve 100% of their potential and to make math a less stressful subject for them. Math is not magic! It is a skill and anyone can learn a skill. I won't lie and say that there is any quick route to math or science success. It will require independent work, study and practice, ou... [more]
I somehow made it to Ph.D level in physics...I think I get it? In all seriousness, I have a firm background in what it takes to become rock-solid in elementary mathematics. My mother spent a lot of time with me as a young lad and that is precisely what made me into the mathematical juggernaut I am today.
I have taken the following courses: Dartmouth College - Math 23 Differential Equations Drexel University - Phys 100, Phys 101 Mathematical Methods for Physicists
I've been developing in C++, CUDA C, Python, Octave and R daily since I began as a graduate student in 2011. I've put together three complicated numerical models in C++ and CUDA C since that time, each one a practical experience in Object Oriented Programming techniques. My skills got me hired as a professional Software Engineer at Lockheed Martin. I'm most proficient in C++ but Python is a close second. I've never taught programming, but I'm a very experienced tutor so I should be able to communicate lessons in programming fairly easily.
Algebra - the subject we all need to get right. Preferably the first time. A monster for some and an inconvenience for others. It doesn't have to be a pain however. Come talk to me and I'll provide you with the weapons you need to slay the monster and the skills you need to be successful in not just algebra but mathematics in general.
Calculus is one of the bedrocks for the physical sciences. Not only do I tutor calculus extensively, but teach it in a classroom setting during my recitation sections at Drexel. Finally, I find myself actually applying calculus on a daily basis during my own research into protein aggregation.
SAT Math - the bane of many students' existence. I've trained since 7th grade to tackle this beast an slew it in high school. Since then, I've helped other aspiring testmasters outthink and humiliate the SAT math section. Every SAT student I've worked with has improved their scores and, most importantly, their confidence with mathematics.
