We all need to use proper grammar to be sure we are understood. While speaking face-to-face we can see if the listener is following our ideas. While writing grammar is even more important.
I am proficient with Microsoft Excel and would be happy to tutor someone in Excel.

My study of computers goes back to the 1970's using mainframe IBM computers. My Microsoft proficiency includes Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, various email and Internet providers. As a college student I tutored a classmate, who successfully passed the Introduction to Computer Science class. Program language proficiency includes Fortran, Cobol, etc. At almost all of my office profession, I have been the computer guru of the office. Accordingly, I am comfortable teaching all levels.
I was a substitute and English as a Second Language teacher for 3 years. I am experienced and currently teach phonics to both children and adults. Pronunciation is imperative to attain respect. As a native Connecticutite, I speak American English.
I substitute taught and taught English as a Second Language. For both there is the need to keep students on track. I do so by creating spreadsheets of the work to be done and the students. I also privately tutor English, Japanese and Geometry. The students know the lesson schedule and how to stay current. My students improved their ability greatly.
For 2 years I taught English as a Second Language to adults. I often included my own creations and often distributed worksheet handouts. Classes focused on enabling students to assimilate in American life and secure jobs. One of my students quickly became a successful cook at a local establishment. Class size varied and I do not speak the native tongue of my students.
My undergraduate degree is in East Asian Studies during which I studied Japan only. I have spoken conversational Japanese since 1975 and yet am not totally fluent. I read, write and speak Tokyo dialect, spent my senior year studying in Japan, and worked at Japanese offices in USA. I read and write hirogana and katakana and approximately 300 kanji. I also perform 'shodoo' art drawing kanji with ink and bamboo brush. I am prepared to teach elementary and intermediate conversational and written Japanese.
My business experience includes basic clerical filing, copying, screening phone calls, opening/distributing mail, fax, telex, email and Internet research. I worked at international vessel owners transporting goods overseas and conducted the associated accounts payable and receivables. As the sole support person, I have maintained organization while multi-tasking. As a conversational Japanese speaker, I help ease the cultural and business differences between the two societies. There is an art to knowing what to say when, upholding confidentiality and respect of clients and staff. I teach English as a Second Language to adults. I am happy to share these skills with interested individuals.
