Algebra has always been my favorite math subject. When I was in high school I went to statewide math contests for two years and placed in the top ten both times. This algebra deals mostly with linear functions.
Algebra 2 is a more advanced, more complex version of algebra 1. Here we get more involved with non-linear functions as well as imaginary and complex numbers. As an engineer and as a college level tutor, I have worked with algebra 2 type functions and problems for many years.
For more than 6 years I have tutored college students in calculus and algebra to help them pass their classes. I have an electrical engineering background in which calculus is used, not just taught. Calculus is mostly the study of curved functions in which calculus is used to find the slope of the curve at any given point or used to find the area under the curve. It has practical applications in many areas of engineering and areas of science such as physics.
I have been working with spreadsheets for more than 20 years. Over the years, and still today, I have developed many spreadsheets with multiple complex formulas for business and personal use.
Geometry is all about shapes and most of these shapes can be broken down into triangles. "Triangles are your friend", I tell my students. Learn everything you can about triangles and it will be very helpful to you. I work with many college level students at my full time job on precalculus who did not understand it in high school. I show them how to convert between degrees and radians, how to find various trig and inverse trig functions and how to relate their studies to the real world.

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology where I studied and applied lots of math. I also have more than nine years of experience tutoring various levels of math.
I am qualified to tutor the math portion of the Praxis, or in Georgia the GACE. I have taken and passed the PRAXIS for math.
