Elementary (K-6th)

Need help or light tutoring after school? I provide after school help for Elementary (K-6th). I make sure the children understand their homework and answer any questions they may have. The extra help will ensure that your child feels confident and prepared which in turn, is the key to be successful in completing the classroom assignments accurately and on time.

General Computer

I am able to help with general computer skills as I am familiar with Microsoft Office Word 2007 or any older versions, Microsoft Office Excel 2007 or older versions. Since I am currently learning the latest version of Adobe Photoshop CS5, and Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0, I am more familiar with any of the older versions and would feel more confident helping students with those versions until I get experience with the latest version.

I can teach both content and the English language. I intend to provide the ESL (English as a Second Language) student or ESOL (English for Students of Other Languages) with multiple opportunities to practice activities and connect their learning to their personal and cultural experiences. My lesson plans are designed to tap students' background knowledge, and use visuals, think-alouds and other ways to involve the ESL. I modify my instruction to engage ESL/ESOL students with various strategies that include the following: Visual and tactile activities that provide adequate repetition and practice of new vocabulary words and concepts. Reading comprehension strategies that should be taught to ESOL in all grade levels. Homework and assessments will be appropriate for the individual stages of English language acquisition.

Art History

I have a Liberal Arts degree with a major in Art. I have taken a number of courses in Art History while attending college. I love all aspects of the arts: the visual arts I enjoy the most are drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, architecture, but I also like literature, theater, and music. I am very comfortable explaining different aspects of art history to students of any age.

Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows can be as helpful and gratifying for the home user as it can be for the professional IT user. As it is used to create and share professional-looking documents thanks to the easy-to-use variety of writing tools and graphics that come with the program. There are many benefits on using Microsoft Windows: One of the advantages is that it works with most kinds of software and hardware. One can create, edit, view, save, and print electronic documents with ease. The latest version is Microsoft Word 2007. I am very familiar with Microsoft Windows as I have used it since 1995 when they came out, back then, with the version called Windows 95.
