I have tutored students in algebra and seen success in as little as one week. From experience and familiarity with content, I can quickly shape a unique lesson plan for each student.
I have taught students the content for each SAT topic as well as the SAT exclusively, including content and exam strategies.
Discrete math is the foundation upon which many mathematical ideas are built. As such, most of my classes at MIT utilized discrete math topics--graphs and sets, logic, probability, and number theory for instance. Discrete math is the language through which I and many other mathematicians understand higher-level topics.
I made an A in Differential Equations my freshman year at MIT. I then went on to take further classes using differential equations, such as my Math for Engineers class at Cambridge University. In my senior year at MIT, I was a grader of problem sets for Differential Equations.
I was a Math major at MIT. I studied Linear Algebra there as well as on my study abroad at the University of Cambridge. I have also tutored Linear Algebra previously. Lastly, in my previous job at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. I worked in resource optimization and algorithm development, where we used linear algebra regularly.
I worked at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from June 2011 to December 2013. My entire group, including myself, used MATLAB for projects. I coded daily in both MATLAB and Python, including modeling, data processing, plotting, algorithm prototyping, and more.
When working at EMC in Hopkinton MA, I was responsible for merging data and creating reports. I used Microsoft Access in conjunction with data imports from other databases and Excel. I am familiar with the Access interface as well as the underlying SQL needed to make precise queries.
I have a broad background in mathematics, including combinatorics, counting, linear algebra, probability, and statistics. I have taught students topics from each of these fields of finite mathematics.
