I took four years of Spanish at my high school and I graduated summa cum laude from University in 2008 with a B.S. in Secondary Education-Spanish Emphasis. I am a licensed high school Spanish teacher, and will be entering my eighth year of teaching this fall. To increase my Spanish skills I lived with a family in Spain over a summer in 2007. I have also taken trips to Mexico and the Dominican Republic. I also have led two large groups of students to Costa Rica for a week of exciting language learning.
I passed the Praxis math, reading, and writing to enter into the teaching program at UW-River Falls in 2008. I then passed the Wisconsin and Minnesota Spanish Praxis exams to earn my teaching licenses in both states. I passed all of these exams on the first attempt. Lastly, I took the Principles of Learning and Teaching essay Praxis after student teaching to complete my certifications in 2008.
