Algebra 1

As a special education teacher, I have taught algebra I in resource rooms and in regular education classes. I am able to break the concepts down and utilize alternate methods to teach the concepts. Over the years, I have developed lesson plans for the different levels of need. I have made study guides, reference sheets and graphic organizers to assist in the process.

Study Skills

As a Special Education teacher, I have worked with many students on their goals to maintain organization and to develop their study skills. I have a text book that has many appropriate and useful lessons for any age or type of student to see how all people will need these skills for life. Quick, easy methods are helpful for students that have attention deficit or little interest in school/ perhaps more of a social interest. :) Memory devices and organizers are most helpful for turning the large projects into smaller, simpler tasks. Everything becomes doable and less stressful!

Special Needs

I am a certified special education teacher. I have experience with ADD/ ADHD students, Aspberger's/ spectrum Disorder students and mild to moderate disabilities.

ADHD

I am a certified special education teacher. I have experience with ADD/ADHD students, Aspberger's/ spectrum Disorder students and mild to moderate disabilities. ADD/ADHD students require a lot of patience and monitoring to keep them on task. They need assistance with organization and methods to keep themselves organized. Often these students miss important information in class as they have a classic tendency to hear only the first and last things said. Tutoring will provide the missing information to fill in those educational gaps.
