Currently, I serve as a freelance science consultant, ghostwriter, textbook editor, tutor, and study guide writer for students of all ages. I have been a long time tutor of several middle school and high school students in the Queens, NY area for nearly the past two years. I have seen my students improve greatly and have become highly recommended among parents and teachers at an area Catholic academy. I am patient with my students and take all the necessary time needed to address their concer... [more]
For the past 3 years, I have had numerous algebra students, all of whom felt that they were much more confident in their abilities after a few sessions. I strive to make sure that each student is completely knowledgeable about each subject area before moving on to the next topic.
I've been helping students achieve their pre-algebra goals for 5 years. I teach all concepts from the beginning so that there is a strong foundation to build on. Past students have seen a great deal of improvement in both their confidence in pre-algebra as well as their abilities.
For the past 4 years, I have been tutoring students in various mathematical concepts for the NYS Regents exams, particularly for the Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 tests. I work at the student's pace, making sure that they absolutely understand the material before moving on to the next concept. I aim to help each student become confident in their mathematical abilities, particularly with areas of trigonometry that are similar or confusing.
For nearly 5 years, I have been working with lower and middle school students to improve their skills in math, reading, science, and writing. I believe in working within a student's abilities and creating a memorable experience. Whether that means learning about sentence structure and storytelling by creating a book or playing a round of scrabble to work on definitions and spelling, I do what it takes for younger students to learn what they need by engaging them in something fun and familiar.
Over the past 5 years, I have been helping students reach their full potential on a number of admission exams. As someone who has taken the popular test prep courses, I have learned what works and what doesn't when it comes to preparing for the SATs.
For several years now, I have been working as a ghostwriter for academics and authors around the world. I have provided written material for everything from textbooks to websites. Additionally, I provide editorial assistance to clients for all levels of writing.
For the past 3 years I have been tutoring students ranging in age from pre-k to 6th grade in all subjects. Currently, I tutor 3 students on a bi- and tri-weekly basis in whatever subject they need help in and tutor at least two other young girls in kindergarten and 1st grade on an as needed basis. In the past, I tutored at least 3 other students in the 4th and 5th grades as well. All students have seen a vast improvement in their work and in their confidence in their work. My current greatest success story is a 10 year old girl, now in the 5th grade, who, last year, was receiving 40s and 50s in math, science, ela, and social studies but now, with my guidance, has been receiving 90s and above for the past year. Additionally, I have been tutoring a 5 year old kindergarten student who excelled in math but needed help with his reading. His primary weakness was putting sounds together to form words and had a tendency to confused sounds like "f" and "th" and "ph" and "th". He now eagerly reads and has become a fairly proficient speller. With all of my students in this age range, I typically devote 4-9 hours a week with each student to go over whatever they currently need help with and where exactly they are struggling. I help each student to identify the specific part of a problem or topic that they do not understand and work with them to figure out why it is that don't understand it. My methods include integrating the topics that need to be covered so that they might understand how each subject relates to others.

I have been studying the French and English schools for nearly 10 years and recently (in the past six years) began taking lessons in the Russian school and adapting my prior knowledge to fit Vaganova's form of dance. While I do not plan on dancing professionally, it is my desire to have the capability to dance at the professional level. Currently I am confident in barre work, moderate adagio centre work and light pointe work until March when I should be able to resume full pointe work.
Over the past 3 years, I have tutored 4-5 students a year in Regents prep for English/ELA, Math, and Science. All students received high marks on their exams, and showed marked improvement in their general school work as it applied to Regents material. In the past, I have been contracted to write study guides for private institutions about the Regents subjects tests for grades ranging from elementary school to high school. Years ago, on my own regents, I scored well above 95% on all exams taken, even receiving a 97 on the chemistry regents.
