I have been working with ESL students for the past few years. My experience includes students from many different countries in Europe and Asia. I use different ESL books and games to help students learn the spoken and written aspects of the English language.

Hard of Hearing
I have been certified to teach hearing impaired students, grades N-6, since 1976. I am also certified to teach social studies to hearing impaired students in grades 7-12. I have taught hearing impaired students since 1976.
I have worked for over 25 years with students ages 4-17 who have had speech impairments. This included working on improving expressive & receptive language skills; improving fluency and articulation skills. Some students had very little speech so techniques such as sign language were used to develop and expand speech skills.
I have a current LPN license as well as a teaching certificate to teach Math, English, Science and Language up to seventh grade. I have tutored many students who were preparing for standardized tests such as the TEAS and have had excellent results. I use various techniques to help students pass this 170-question test. I feel my experiences, education and expertise will help any student become successful in passing this test. Since this test was developed by educators I know as an educator/nurse myself, what it takes to prepare for a standardized exam for students entering nursing school. As of March 2016, I have a 95% track record.
I have a BA with a minor in 7-12 Social Studies. I also have certification to teach Social Studies to deaf and hard of hearing. I taught Social Studies for three years in a self contained 5th grade classroom. I also taught Social Studies for another 6 years in a multi-age, self contained classroom to students in grades 5 through grades 8.
