Precalculus

I have 15 years of experience tutoring Precalculus to high school students, and university students of all majors. I focus on discussing the concepts along with techniques used to solve problems in a topic, and helping the student develop problem-solving skills. In addition, I try to identify and fill in possible math gaps that a student might have, and also discuss applications related to the student's field to increase motivation.

SAT Math

I've had experience tutoring for Math test prep in standarized tests such as the SAT, ASVAB, GRE, and the MCAT. As a test taker, I've taken the CEEB, SAT, ASVAB, and GRE, with the percentiles of most of my Math scores in the higher 90's. I can help going over both the background Math required to solve the problem and the shortcuts to answer questions quickly and effectively so that you can do well in the SAT.

Differential Equations

Differential Equations is the basic language of Physics. Across all subfields of Physics, there is a fundamental differential equation that expresses and summarizes how nature behaves. I have more than 10 years of experience tutoring Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations to undergraduate science and engineering students as an independent tutor and also while working as a Math, Physics, and Statistics tutor at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez (UPRM). I focus on helping the student develop skills in identifying the differential equation, discuss the techniques used to solve it along with the concepts related to those techniques, and also applications related to the student's field to increase motivation. I have taken undergraduate and graduate level courses in Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations and Mathematical Methods in the Sciences. I have also presented at UPRM's Applied Mathematics Seminar on topics related to Partial Differential Equations, explaining graduate-level Physics topics to graduate and undergraduate Math students.
