Study Skills

I was an honor student in college both at Wayne State University and Eastern Michigan University. I learned how to organize my papers, materials, and assignments. I use a planner. I did long range planning with a calendar so all my assignments got covered daily, and I worked on long-range assignments in small chunks over time. I learned how to schedule study times that were realistically paced before major exams and papers. I learned how to take helpful notes during lectures. When reading textbooks I learned how to pull main points from a text rapidly. I made study time a priority and had an environment that was free from distractions, was well-lit, comfortable, and stocked with the school materials I needed. I would be happy to share with others the best ways to study.
