I have taught elementary math for ten years at various grade levels. I taught 6th grade and 7th grade math for four years, and elementary math for six years. Math is my strength in teaching.
I have taught 3rd and 4th grades for two years and also 6th grade for four years. My Kansas license certifies me to teach K-9. I also have experience as a paraprofessional for four years with this level of classes.
I have worked with K-6 graders as a paraprofessional and a Special Education teacher. During this time, I have taught them their phonics as well as using appropriate words in sentences.
I have played the piano for thirteen years through private lessons. I went as far as my instructor was able to teach these piano lessons to me. I've played the piano in competition as well as in recitals. In school, I was asked several times to be the musician during concerts. I feel that I have a good background knowledge in this subject and would love the opportunity to share my experiences with you.
Since working as a paraprofessional and a special education teacher, study skills was an important aspect of their learning process. These were children K-6 at an elementary school. I have taught learning skills to students which included organization and time management of school work, reading strategies, effective note taking, and various test-taking strategies.
I have a provisional license in Special Education with two years of experience teaching and working with 3rd and 4th graders who have special needs. I filled out lesson plans to incorporate into their learning at their level and also took into consideration what they were learning in the classroom at their grade level.
