Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, English, Math and Study Skills

Based upon the child's learning style, I'm able to teach a broad spectrum of subjects. Preparation and flow are key to good teaching. Being intuitive to a child's needs is as important as making learning fun. I enjoy working one-on-one and am extremely patient. I've taught all ages, from 4-65 years of age (from an outreach program teacher group from K-6 to College Professor 18-65 y/0). I'm thrilled to incorporate their learning into practical daily life events and into life experiences. Th... [more]

Elementary (K-6th)

As a dedicated teacher, I?ve worked (10 years) with students from elementary to college level in reading, vocabulary, math and study skills by applying real life, practical experiences in their problem solving solutions. When teaching reading for instance, I have teach using phonics, blending and other methods with great results. Children master a variety of vocabulary, spelling, grammar, reading tasks and study skills. When teaching math, I use ?Investigations? and/or 'Everyday Math?. I encourage children by setting obtainable goals together (getting them to be okay with stretching their own comfort zones) and by celebrating their achievements with them! I have an innate talent for understanding the child?s thought process to guide them smoothly toward their comprehension and appreciation for the topic at hand. I am a passionate professional teacher who?s learned to turn the child's frustration into joy! We turn a have-to into a want-to! They work hard; yet, they have a true sense of accomplishment, pride and confidence. Students, who were once overwhelmed, become empowered with a fresh outlook toward their next chapter in a given subject.

Study Skills

Three primary skills are taught to increase the students focus, comprehension and management. I teach students structure through reading and note taking as well as scheduling their time and responsibilities.

Career Development

There are two strategies used in identifying a career path. If a student already knows their passion and ambition, I work with them to isolate markets, refine resumes and outline strategies to obtaining the best possible employer. Teaching students to qualifying potential employers is also an important tool.

Group and individual critiques impelled their growth.
