I hold a Graduate's Degree in Psychology, and I am working on interdisciplinary PhD in psychology with a focus on education.
Over 25 years experience assisting students with proofreading needs. This experience began during my work as a typist for college papers via Kinko's and has grown over the years to include middle school, high school and corporate individuals.
I have been an instructor in phonetics education for 8 years, working with students who have various learning modalities. I have been able to work with student's learning styles to adapt phonetics learning to leverage skills that come to the student naturally. Currently I have added to my skill set by implementing the Ortho-Gillingham methodology which I hope to be certified in by the year's end. Lastly, as a degree-seeking student in anthropology and psychology, I have taken coursework in linguistics and have assisted in language-based research that has helped me grasp a better understand of language learning and acquisition.
I have owned my own software/web consulting business for 12 years. Prior, I was a senior consultant for Booz Allen and Hamilton and AnswerThink, working in the roles of Technical Lead and Jr. Project Manager. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge in the print, financial and medical verticals with focus on sales, marketing and technology.
Degreed in Psychology with a special focus on the education of non-traditional learners, I have worked now for over 5 years with students of all ages with a variety of alternate learning styles including but not limited to students with ADHD, Autism, Aspergers, and Dyslexia as well as students with hearing, speech and writing delays due to illness or prematurity at birth and students with mental challenges such as high anxiety and depression..
I am a student of Anthropology at USF/St. Petersburg. Anthropology has been a passion of mine since early childhood and has led to a focus in medical, cultural, and business anthropology.
I am a dual degree seeking student at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg (USF/St. Petersburg)in anthropology and psychology, due to graduate in December 2013. I have been accepted to the Masters of Liberal Arts program at the USF/St. Petersburg with a focus in anthropology. My coursework completed to date related to archaeology includes: ANT 2511 Intro Phys Anthropology, ANT 3101 Archaeology, ANT 4163 Mesoamerican, Archaeology, ANT 4524 Human Osteology, ANT 4583 Human Evolution, ANT 4930 ST: Ethnoarchaeology. Additionally I have worked as a volunteer archeologist for the Mission San Diego excavation in San Diego, California.
I have been working with Microsoft Access for over 15 years, designing in-house corporate customer tracking systems as well as dynamic content for small and midsize companies and non-profits. I am currently designing a MS Access meta-analysis database for personal use during my MA and PhD studies as well as for use among fellow academics at USF/St. Petersburg.
